Women's Health - January 2007

My friend is having major pain in her left side. She had an ovarian cyst a few years back. She has cramping and numbness all down her left side. She went to the ER Tuesday night and they didn't do an xray but referred her to another doctor. They kept her there longer to get her BP down because it was too high. Gave her a script for the pain and sent her home. She then went to the referral the ER gave her and all that doc did was draw blood and gave her another referral for her BP problem. On her left side down to her foot, she gets a tingly numbness. The referral doctor wants to do an ekg, kidney, liver test and etc. Does anyone know what this could be, she doesn't seem to be getting the answers she needs.

i have been having problems and have narrowed it down to one of these 2 things. can anyone tell me if you can get an urinary track infection from changing the soap you wash with?
i know you get bladder stones from to much vitm.E in you system, but i was woundring if it's only vitm.E you comsume or if it is also products you use(shampoo, lotions & conditiners)? any infor. will help my not worry so much right now. my doc. is booked all week so i have to wait to go get checked. thank you for your time. :)

My girlfriend all of the sudden doesn't want to have sex anymore. Her libido is non-existent. She loves me dearly but says she just isn't in the mood and is considering seeing a doctor. She recently changed birth control pills but neither of us think that could be related. Are any diseases realted to a low libido? Were both a little worried.

for some reason whenever im on my period it always hurts down below, like feels like theirs an infection, but it is only when im on my period, it feels kinda like sharp pains, i dont know..it hurts though, is this normal, or something i should be worried about?

ok i am 13 and i have had my peroid for about a few months and im getting very worried....i been on it sceen dec.8 till this day...but before this peroid i really didnt have one the last time it was very light...i really dont have long periods i have to say that i would at least stay on it for at least three days but not this time....im so scared so what is happening to me????

Im sorry if this seems gross, but I have never had a yeast infection before and I went to the market to purchase something for it, everything was so expensive and I am a bit strapped for cash right now...I read yogurt can work but im not sure how much to use or how...any helpful tips or cheap remedies would be greatly apprecated

I am 12 this year and i got my period for 1 and a half year already....
i am FAT short....
My mom said that i'm not growing taller because i am getting fatter...is that true??
does that mean that if i don't loose some pounds i'll never be tall???
i read that u can't grow anymore after you get your period....
Is that true??
i am sooo scared...
all my friends got their period but they are all taller than me..
they always tease me about how fat i am and how short i am..
They always go " Omg... Li, why do u look so short today???" and "omg.. FATSO!! look two of my arms are urs.!!!"
I hate it when they say that..

no i am not pregnant and they have hurt for about 3 weeks so its not that. And i havnt really gained weight. only like 3 pounds. But they are felling pretty huge and sore. It is both of them. Do you know what could be the reason.

I am a 79 yr. old female.I had a cancerous kidney removed several years ago...All signs have been good since...However, i have had constant urinary tract infections, over this time, sometimes several times a year.I am constantly being prescribed Macrobid.I also take synthroid



On Jan 12/07 I had a pap smear from my gp. I have ANOTHER urinary tract infection. I saw my oncologist on Jan 15/07 who told me that my white blood cell count was a little high in my last blood work ( a week previously). He suggested that I may have had an infection, and that could be the reason for this...Could the pap smear be related to this infection?. How could my gp have missed it, as it was obviously there prior to the pap smear, which my oncoclogist agrees..



I am back on macrobid again!and along with this I am suffering from sometimes uncontrollable leakage which has a urine smell.!am wear panty liners, and at times the leak goes through alI I am wearing.It burns and is uncomfortable HELP!

Ok let me start my issues. I am on my 4th pack of Tri-Previfem (generic ortho-tricyclen) well my period has been outta wack since i've been switched such as Early periods. Well i did a dumb move and tried to skip the whites and go into the next pack ( i know..i learned my lesson) and after 2weeks into the new pack i got my period..well brown spotting..and then got heavy 2 days later like a normal period. I usually have 6 day periods..well now i am still bleeding (but its light & pink now) for a total of 13 days so far and im still taking my pills but i am on the inactive pills now. How long should i wait until i should worry? When i finish the pack? I am looking for a doc, i just moved to CT so give me a answer other than call your doc because I will but I want women's advice/experiences. Oh and i am 25 yrs old if that helps

I missed taking the 2nd day of my birth control pill and took it the next day. I then was taking antibiotics a week after i missed my pill but i did have unprotected sex on the morning that i missed my one pill. i have been on the pill for like 5 years what do you think my chances of being prego is and do you think i can test now that i am getting my friend next week and get a pos? I am 19 years old and have only been with 2 guys. My current boyfriend and I use a condom everytime we have sex, however, I am not on any form of birth control. My issue is, that when my boyfriend and I are having sex, about half-way through, I have a very thick, white/transparent discharge coming out of me, and there is A LOT of it. It seems to make a very large mess each time. However, there is no odor, pain, irriation to either of us, burning, NOTHING. But I am EXTREMELY self-concious about it, and I dont have insurance, and cant go to a doctor until my new job benefits kick in, which could take a long time. I have no other issues other than when we are having sex. My boyfriend doesnt seem worried, and I'm trying not to be, but I'm scared it could be serious. Does anyone have any ideas?
