Ok let me start my issues. I am on my 4th pack of Tri-Previfem (generic ortho-tricyclen) well my period has been outta wack since i've been switched such as Early periods. Well i did a dumb move and tried to skip the whites and go into the next pack ( i know..i learned my lesson) and after 2weeks into the new pack i got my period..well brown spotting..and then got heavy 2 days later like a normal period. I usually have 6 day periods..well now i am still bleeding (but its light & pink now) for a total of 13 days so far and im still taking my pills but i am on the inactive pills now. How long should i wait until i should worry? When i finish the pack? I am looking for a doc, i just moved to CT so give me a answer other than call your doc because I will but I want women's advice/experiences. Oh and i am 25 yrs old if that helps

If you are still getting irregular and breakthrough bleeding after three months then it's a good sign that you need to change to a higher dose or a different pill. Tri-phasic pills didn't work for me - always got breakthrough bleeding. Low dose monophasics didn't work for me either, but the higher-dose one I'm on now does the trick.

Well I wouldn't worry, per say. I would however use a back-up method of birth control until you finish the next pack as you are so out of whack.
