My girlfriend all of the sudden doesn't want to have sex anymore. Her libido is non-existent. She loves me dearly but says she just isn't in the mood and is considering seeing a doctor. She recently changed birth control pills but neither of us think that could be related. Are any diseases realted to a low libido? Were both a little worried.

Birth control pills contain hormones and hormones can effect your desire to have sex greatly. If this hasn't been going on long see if you can wait it out for a month and if it doesn't improve have her consult her doctor. She probably needs to change birth control. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the one that will work for her the best. Good luck.

birth control switching can deffinately be the cause. sometimes it makes people want more sex, sometimes it makes people want none. if she doesn't want to go to a dr. right away how about trying one of these....go to a sex toy shop and get some toys or books or costumes that she thinks looks exciting or fun to try....lite a room with candles and put on some romantic music then take a bubble bath together or eat chocolate covered strawberries. then lie in bed and do some foreplay for a while. use some lube to keep things wet and go at it....if she gets a random urge for sex when you're shopping or out to eat or wherever you are, take advantage of the urge and the nearest bathroom/closet/dressing room....read exotic romance stories out loud to one another and see if the verbal sex scenes make her libido rise. women are more vocal, men are more visual when it comes to sex. i hope some of these give you ideas and help you with your sex life. maybe after a month or so with this new birth control she'll be back to her old self and into the "swing" of things again. good luck!

It's almost certainly related to the birth-control issue.

* Libido is related to testosterone levels.

* High levels of estrogen counteract the effects of testosterone and effectively stop it taking effect.

* Some birth control pills have more estrogen than others.

It may be possible to change to a pill with less estrogen.

The effect of testosterone on libido is well known -- hairy girls usually have higher levels of libido.

Having a baby is a tramatizing experience. She's probably scared of getting pregnant again.

Looking into secure birth control is a start. Don't tell her that no birth control is 100%.

It'll be our secret. *wink*
