I am a 20 something female and often refrain from drinking alcohol because I like to take things in moderation and alcohol is way to high in calories. Plus I like to work out most days and drinking doesn't really mesh well with alcohol.

Anyway, I went out with the girls last night and for the first time in quite a while (before Christmas), I had three drinks and was feeling tipsy but not drunk. I have a small hangover but not too bad. What is really awful is this horrible feeling of anxiety that I have. It's a lurking feeling that something is wrong and I can't quite explain it.

I noticed that I usually feel this way the day after I drink regardless of whether I got drunk or not. I also don't feel this way when I am drinking, just afterwards. I am a really laid back person and never feel this way otherwise.

Does anyone else experience anxiety after they have consumed alcohol?

For example, if someone is in an enclosed room which is filling with smoke (but not fire) how long would it be before they died or would be seriously at risk of severe respiratory damage or other such health risks?

My sister went into hopital tuesday with what we thought was a stroke. She has had a brain scan and has been told 'No'.
The doctor said it could be a basilar migraine.
She has slurred speach, a light feeling in her left arm and topples over on her left leg ocasionally. The left side of her face also dropped but this is much better now but she says she has to think before she speaks and her speech is slow.
She is 46 overweight and Bp was 185/98.

They have sent her home on Bp meds and have taken blood. Her doctor has told her he will find out whats wrong.

Could this be a migraine??
How long will the symptons last??

I am worried about her and if anyone could help that would be great.

Any advice to help her get better?

Many Thanks
Angel

Today is my wedding day, and I woke up this morning with a painful cough and fever of 98.8 (my norm temp is 97.4). I bought the homeopathic Ziacam nasal gel that is supposed to shorten a cold. I don't take regular medication (being they have FD&C dies, sucralose etc). What can I do to relieve my symptoms and keep up energy today? and give my cells the supplements they need to fight off the cold?

Hello there! I have been coughing for the last couple of weeks incessantly. The last couple of days the coughing diminished leaving a dry throat. I still cough, but the problem is that sometimes when I cough I get that terrible feeling of choking. Yesterday, I was having a bowl of milk with cereals for breakfast and I almost choked to death. I just had a cup of hot tea and now I feel better. Anybody knows what is it? Thank you!

I had read that family members were trying diligently to get her into rehab...but, you can't believe everything that you read...ya know?
Would you have any inside answers....or know the "reality" of those stories..or do you, just believe that she may or not may not , have a huge problem..and should her ex-hubby get sole custody of the baby boys?
What R your thoughts? And why?

I am currently completing studies in aged care (one more assignment to go!!!) and this last one is on difficult and challenging behavior.
I have to pick a behavior recording or assessment tool (apart from a structured observation chart such as a tally sheet, frequency graph or an event record) list how to use the tool and record how often a behavior is occurring, what happened before and after etc.

As I work in home and community care I don't have to personally use assessment tools and charts/graphs etc.

Anyone who could possibly help me out with some ideas please??

I had strepp throat every year when I was a child and my tonsils became very infected. So eventually I had a tonsilectamy. After the surgery, my mother told me that my tonsils "crumbled in the doctor's hand," and that if I hadn't had the procedure sooner, it would have been dangerous for me.

Years later, affter going through therapy, I've realized that my parents "exaggerated the truth" a lot, to put it mildly.

I'm no doctor, but I find this scenario difficult to believe. I appreciate all the insight I can get. Is it possible for one's tonsil's to just "cumble" before one's eyes? I doubt many people have answers to this, but if you do, I'm all ears. Thanks!

I have been experiencing sleepless nights over the last 2 months. Everyday I go to bed around 12:00 – 12:30am and I wake up at 7:15am for work.
My situation, which occurs twice a week, is that I fall asleep around 12:15am. After another 10 minutes I wake up again. Then it takes me another 10 minutes to go back to sleep. I spend the rest of the night going through the same thing. Every 10 minutes I wake up then take another 10 minutes to sleep. When I wake up, I feel so hot as if my feet are on fire, but without any sweat. I try changing my cloths into lighter ones, I try drinking a cup of milk, and I even wash my feet with cold water, but nothing works. This really drives my nerves so I leave bed by 2:30am although I feel so tired and in need to sleep. Usually, when this happens I stay awake until 6:00am, which leaves me only an hour to sleep before work.
Now, I need to know why is this happening to me? What is it? And how can I prevent it from happening again and again?
