Hello there! I have been coughing for the last couple of weeks incessantly. The last couple of days the coughing diminished leaving a dry throat. I still cough, but the problem is that sometimes when I cough I get that terrible feeling of choking. Yesterday, I was having a bowl of milk with cereals for breakfast and I almost choked to death. I just had a cup of hot tea and now I feel better. Anybody knows what is it? Thank you!

I doubt it's whooping cough, because I do not vomit and I haven't experienced cyanosis.

Is it like 'whooping cough?' Feels like your airway closes after you cough? Also, people can get bronchospasm after they cough that makes them feel like they're choking. Either way, you can get treatment to help. You can find more info on line on either.

Sometimes when you cough, you lose a lot of air from your lungs and you may suffer oxygen deprivation too. So, get your cough under control. Yes, hot tea will be soothing. Also take hot tea with ginger, milk with pepper and hot soups. Try herbs or homeopathy for relief.
