What ever is wrong, it sounds pretty serious. Unfortunately, I doubt you'll find anyone qualified to give you a correct answer on Yahoo Answers.
Take your daughter to another doctor and insist on full blood work. She could have anything from kidney disease to cancer - or it might just be mono. A month is a long time to be sick.

It really sounds like cluster headaches or severe migranes. She needs to be on high strength preventative tablets, they don't fully stop the problem but they do reduce it substantially.
You've got to get her back to the doctors and fight her corner. She needs a proper specialist referral and investigation.
In the meantime, the only thing that helps my other half when he's in the throws of this is Propain tablets (about £4.50 from Boots or any chemist). Just the standard ones, not the 'max strength' stuff. For some reason they're the only painkiller that helps him.
Someone recently recommended he try just 2 asprin and a glass of Lucozade. So we'll be trying that one next time the headaches hit him...
Good luck and be strong for your daughter x

Hello - this osunds very much like depression to me.
I started treatment for depression 3 months ago but I can now recognise that I had been experiencing physical symptoms for 12 months previously - These included diarrhoea esp when faced stressful situations, sinus pain, headaches, excessive tiredness and skin rashes. It is very hard when you are depressed to admit your feelings for the first time. GP's do have checklists they use to assess if people are depressed. Depression is not always triggered by a big life event - it may build up over a long time. If it does turn out that your daughter is depressed she will need lots of support - I am taking anti-depressants but it is the counselling that is proving most beneficial to me, the only problem is it can take some time to access these services via the NHS.

Take her back to the doctor. This has gone on too long. Codene can cause stomach ache in some people. She needs more blood tests and a proper diagnosis, which you won't get here. Sorry, but if she were my daughter, she would not be lying ill in her bed, letting life go by. I would have pestered the doctor, hospital, and got her diagnosed by now. I know it must hurt you to see your child ill, but you can't afford to just wait and see how things go, because one doctor hasn't found the cause. Keep at it, your child is depending on you. Good luck

Well you have to get her checked out by a specialist, ask to be referred. The sickness will be related to the headaches which could well be migraines. All could be helped by looking at her diet and avoiding the classic triggers, ( I am no expert by any means but things like cheese/chocolate/caffeine etc... do a google..) It maybe a "simple" case of a post viral thing, you can't mess about with these and sometimes as I'm sure you know it takes ages to fully recover....Keep her on a high vitamin C dose and what about echinacea to boost her immune system.... I can imagine how difficult it must be for you all. Good luck!

She might be suffering mentally. You feel as good as your mind. Some people with depression make themselves very sick.I assume she has been to the doctor many times. Some doctors dont beleive someone so young can suffer like this.Ther could be something effecting her emotionally that when she feels better she faces it again and shuts her down. For a 15 year old it is hard to describe how mentally sound you feel and some time scarry.Keep being mom and dont give up until you find the answers. If she is depressed the codein is no good for her.

Physical or possibly a psychological examination is the only way I'm afraid. It's a bit like asking,How long is a piece of string in my back pocket.Any ones guess!Persist with the Dr thing.Taking advice on this forum for possibly serious health issues can be even more dangerous than the illness itself.

she may be depressed because she may not be eating healthy. the body is a strange thing it needs what it needs. She may have iron deficiency. Or maybe she is being bullied have you explored these things with her? I really do not hope that it is more serious. God forbid. It may be just migraine in which she might need her eyes tested. But the eating habits might have to be changed any way?

This could be many things, but it also could be migraines. She needs to be seen by a doctor. If her current doctor isn't willing to do any more testing, find another doctor. A couple of months is far too long for her to have to suffer.
