I was feeling sick about 2 months ago, I went to the doctor... the doctor said that I had an upper respitory infection. He prescribed medications (3) that I took as directed. After one week, I still wasnt feeling any better. So I went back to the doctor, where they didnt even see me, they just wrote me another 2 prescriptions. I finally got better for about one week, and then I started to feel ill again. Same symptoms... I went to the doctor and they wrote me more prescriptions.... this has happened 5 times within 2 months...I am tired of being sick! I want to leave my doctor and go see a better one. But dont want to spend alot of money going to see different doctors. Is there a website or place where I can go and choose a doctor by rating or schooling. I would love it if a doctor would actually spend some time trying to figure out what is wrong with me, rather than feed me pills to make it go away for a week.

I have no problem dropping off to sleep at night but after a few hours i wake up and cant go back to sleep. My baby has been sleeping thru for 3months so i have no reason to wake up. I have started taking anti depressants because i was feeling so low and thought they may help my insomnia because when i wake i cant stop thinking about nothing. How can i stay asleep? What may be causing it?

I had 8 days off work and can no-longer self certify. The doctors will not give me a note in retrospective. I am looking for a website link or contact who I can buy a blank note from. Many thanks. UK only.

My husband and I are travelling on an adventure holiday in the remote parts of Brazil. Both of us seem to have picked up some sort of eye infection. There is no doctor around but a small one room pharmacy sold us the following medicines. Apparently here you dont need a prescription to buy anything. They are the following eye drops.
Maxitrol - containing dexametasone, neomycin sulphate and polimycin B sulpate,
Claroft- containing nafazolina cloridrato
Trisorb - containing dextrana, hipromelose, glicerol.

Some of the names are the portuguese version. The problem is both my husband and I are borderline glaucoma and were warned by our own ophthalmologist never to indiscriminately use eye drops as they might contain steroids that could drive up the eye pressure. We dont know if these drops contain steroids and we have no doctor to ask here. Please if anyone can comment we would be grateful.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out and will be under IV sedation for it. I'm looking for answers from experience, but any other additional information is great too. I just have a lot of questions about it. Did you feel anything during the operation (anything from pain to tickling to just feeling things inside your mouth)? Did you know what was going on during the procedure? Were you fully aware? Were you able to move your head or neck under IV sedation? How long after the procedure was done were you 'drugged up'? Were you scared or nervous beforehand? If so, how did that feeling go during and after the operation? Are you able to think clearly through the procedure? Did you dream about anything during the procedure (especially about them taking out your wisdom teeth)? How much did it hurt the day after? And the day after that? Were you able to do normal everday things the day after? Can you talk normally afterwards? And do they give you a lollipop when it's over? ;*) jk

I'm just curious about whether or not a person would feel better getting no sleep before having to go to school (or work) or getting only a couple hours of sleep before having to wake up to start their day.

Well, i'm not exactly sure. See, we have had exams all this week, and Sunday night, I got about four hours of sleep, so I can see that wasn't good. But then Monday night, I feel asleep at about seven and woke up at six, and I was even more tired that day. I'm really not sure what's going on. Then, last night for some reason, I couldn't get any sleep at all. I was studying spanish until about two in the morning, and when I finally got to lie down, I just couldn't sleep. And if I did, I woke back up about 10 minutes later each time.

For the past couple of days, I keep having this odd taste and sensation in my mouth of something like novacaine. My tongue actually feels quite numb sometimes, and there's a peculiar taste to it all.
