Earwax or cerumen is created by cerumenous glands in your ear canal. Thats their job just to produce the stuff. The wax is a protected layering for both foriegn baterial stuff and sound. In studies they found that people that were exposed to prolonged loud music and those with chronic ear infections both have a speeded production of wax.

As for location exclusiveness, I don't know. Ears are important to protect but the cerumenous glands are dubbed 'modified sweat glands'. This is a bit of a misnomer but you get the idea that they resemble sweat glands to some point and those are on your foot and in your belly button.

Cerumen ( ear wax) is actually a Cholesterol that is naturally secreted to trap dirt and debris in the ear canal. Sometimes the wax will become runny and bring the debris to the outer ear, at other times it may need to be removed with cotton buds or irrigation, although the latter has lost popularity, due to some people getting ear infections
Other stuff you mentioned!
No but some people get Toe Jam and belly buton fluff

Ear wax is a natural protectant that forms in our ears to protect the delicate inner ear. It traps nasty germs, bacteria and other not too nice things and keeps them from setting up house in the inner ear.
Ear wax isn't actually a "wax", but a surfactant produced by the pores in your middle ear. Sometimes too much is produced and can cause problems, although most of the time just leaving it alone is the best option

i watched this on Oprah recently. Earwax is somewhat a barrier. it is collected dust so that you can protect it from other types of things that could possibly infect your ear-drums. i must add that i am not a doctor and that you should not take this comment very seriously, i just stated as much as i remember from Oprah a few days ago.

I sure wish I knew that answer too. My husband doesn't ever get anything out of his ears, but me and both my kids do. My son had to have is flushed out last month. I used to have to have it done when I was a kid.
