Overall growth continues, inside & out, height, weight, inner organs, etc. till ages between 18 & 21 & the final outcome SOMEtimes depends a lot on genetics. Even if most of your ancestors are short, it only takes 1 tall one to pass it on to you, even back/beyond great grandparents. Same goes for how your body's metabolism handles weight. It's possible too that your height growth has slowed & your body organ and/or weight growth is on a surge. Soon, those could very well slow up & your height growth may take off again. Forever, it's important to avoid fattening foods but even moreso at this time. If by 21 you don't reach your desired height, wear thick shoe soles/heals, verticle stripe clothes, no tops/jackets too far past the waist, narrow pant legs to the ankle (not overlapping shoes/no high waters) & wear tall caps/hats (no skull caps or hats that fit close to the top of the head as well as hair styles taller on top & narrow at the sides. All of this will make you look taller to others as well as yourself. Most importantly, love yourself as your are & remember success is accomplised by using your brain & your heart rather than your physical size because the bigger person comes from within.

Typically genetic predisposition determines your height...Fat is also predisposed to react with your genetic make up and metabolism.
If you are 17, you need to work on your understanding of English and grammar. Personally, I believe you are 12 or so and are worried about being called a fat kid...if that is the case, do twenty pushups a day for a week and 50 situps a day...then double that number every week for a month. By the end of the month you will be able to start a running routine and whip the ever living bejesuwhack out of whoever is messing with you now.
Shape up, work out, you are young...go into training and use your anger to your benefit. After a month or two people will leave you alone.

.You can easily cure this problem by doing the following yogic exercises everyday and you will see the remarkable change in you..
1. Arathamathesendrasan (reduces the folds on the side)
2. bhujangasan ( reduces the fat & creases on the back)
3. halasan ( flexes the muscles & reduces the creases)
4. dhanurasan ( flexes the muscles & reduces the creases)
5. sarvangasan ( controls the whole body to perfection)
6. mathsyasan ( increases the chest & reduces the stomach)
7. nauli kriya ( the best for stomach)
8. mayurasan ( very difficult but best for the belly )
9. bhastrika pranayanam ( breathing exercise, very best and must as this controls BP, prevent lung diseases, increases the brain power, will never get cough or cold and controls your anger and other violent emotions, brings in crimson complextion to the face etc,etc)
10. sevasan. ( This is the last exercise and this removes all the stress and strain of all the above exercises )
Do all these exercises in the morning before breakfast and after nature calls because both your stomach & intestines should be empty while you do this . Do it regularly for 1 month with confidence and see the magic

your body stops growing about 21 years of age, and your 17 give it some time. If you have a lot of fat around your waist, you might take a look at what you are eating. fast food and junk food are not good for your waist line.

i wouldnt say that you have stopped growing but definatly slowing down! we all differ as to when we will actually stop! lots of light exercise will be good for you if you are worried and a regular healthy eating plan! you are young so enjoy life to the full not worry about a little excess on your waist :-)

unlikely that height will increase
though some have grown till 21
increasing fat can be measured by a simple measuring tape buddy
look for the waist size

generally height of a person stop growing by the age he crosses 17
but height can be kept inc. by height inc. exercises and rigorous workout. My brother whose height was 5'6" rose to6'3" after he joined course in physical training.Sudden inc. in fats is indicated by the white marks around your waist.And they are there if inc. in fats is disproportionate .
