Hi,

I've always been slightly insomniac - no matter how long a day I'd had. Sometimes I'd do three days straight and start getting very strange thought patterns it would be that bad sometimes.

I discovered cammomile tea and no kidding - it would knock me out. I went on a real health binge and liked the sound of herbal tea - I didn't realise cammomile was supposed to calm you and help you sleep. So I was drinking this stuff and falling asleep in the middle of the day! I didn't know what was wrong with me till a friend told me it was the tea!

Try 2 or 3 cups after your evening meal and then go to bed and read a good book.

Oh, also.... don't have your evening meal after 6pm if you can help it because apparrently that will keep you awake.

If you find the tea too bland or don'tlike the taste - try a squeeze of lemon juice and a tiny bit of honey with it. It's great for your skin too.

Good luck ;)

PS

What time of day do you do your exercise? It is best to do it in the morning because it can give you asecond wind if it is done too near bed-time, as it releases endorphins which give you a natural 'high' - which could keep you alert & wakeful.

Do this . sit cross legged close your mouth and inhale and exhale quickly 20 times through nose and on the 21st time you take a deep breath and hold it in your lungs as long as possible and then slowly release it . Relax for two minutes and repeat the exercise . This you do 3 or 4 times and drink a cup of warm milk. After 15 minutes you go to bed and sleep would come automatically. This is an yogic exercise and its name is Bhastrika Pranayanam.

I had problems sleeping and I realized the primary reason was my pillow. Try using a different "softer" pillow with more neck support and hopefully your restlessness will go away!

stress.

if you don't feel like taking medicines or pills, wake up at the same time early every morning. regardless if you slept very late, wake up at the same time. your body will naturally regulate your need to sleep.
