After surgury in which an organ is removed, what happens to the faulty organ? Do they put them in the garbage? Make dog/cat food out of them? Serve them up as soup in the hospital kitchen?

This morning I went to yawn and my mouth got stuck open. It wouldn't close at all. I kept trying to force it shut and finally when I pushed down and back a little did it finally go back into place and close. Is this what you call lockjaw? What is it exactly? Is it something I should worry about?

*I've been having problems with my jaw since my brother hit me in the face with a shoe about 6-7 years ago, but this is the first time it actually locked open like that. Usually it just cracks and pops sometimes. Also, I just got a tooth pulled a few weeks ago, could that be what caused it?

I know you cant really take a ten pound one but if you were able to..would you actually weigh ten pounds lighter? i mean i know you probably would to begin with but not for very long i would imagine you would make it back very easily.

I hate this! People on Yahoo Answers making up obvious joke sob stories, and then people answer from the heart to these jokesters. Don't you think that's wrong?

I have had this problem for three years, off and on. I will have it for weeks at a time then be ok for a few days and it comes back full force... it gets to be so hard... I take immodium like candy and yet sometimes that doesnt even work. I have had an ultrasound with nothing to report and they have taken stool and blood samples and found nothing wrong.... I dont think its from stress, but what could be my problem... I eat well and do whatever I can to let it run its course when I'm home, But it gets to be a big issue at work. If anyone knows anything that could help me solve my problem please let me know ^_^

mr. jimenez is a 70 yr old chronic pulmonary disease patient(emphysema)who has smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years. He takes graet enjoyment and satisfaction in smoking and does not want to quit.In that his illness is exacerbated by the smoking, his physician is demanding that he quit. Each time he tries to quit smoking,Mr. Jimenez becomes irritable and unhappy. His wife and family hate it when he is not smoking because he becomes a bear to live with.
Consider this case from the position of Teleological theories and create a pleasure gained and pain avoided list to see if you can determine whether Mr Jimenez should continue or quit smoking

I have taken this medication for many many years. Started out a fire stabbing pain in my stomach - doctor put me thru tests (drinking stuff and x-rays). They could not "find" anything with all the tests. Went on Prilosec and it has worked -- he refilled prescriptions, etc. and time goes on. I have been on it so long now and now it is non-prescription but still expensive and pain in stomach is and has been gone. I tried going off of it but ended up with horrible indigestion - acid reflux - no sleep, etc --- bad bad stuff. Tried other meds to reduce acid - no go. So now I am afraid my BODY is addicted to Prilosec and I can't stop taking it or I'm feeling like - oh..can't explain the discomfort. It's that bad. Kind of like trying to explain the pain of childbirth - I can't explain that either. Anyway, any of you out there have ANY ideas or going through the same thing? Pretty sad-there's no REHAB for this kind of thing-LOL but I'm really kind of serious as I don't want to pay anymore.

I have just been prescribed iron tablets and i remember seeing a warning on the prescription paper saying " dont take this pill one hour before or two hours after consuming milk or milk product".......Does anyone know why, and is it really that serious? I drink milk all the time so in my case I'll never be able to take my iron....or else I'll have to STOP drinking milk. Just curiouse WHY the milk has anything to do with it.
