Has anyone heard of tainted blood?

Has anyone heard of or know anyone personally who has recieved tainted blood from a blood transfusion recently? This year or within the last 2 years? I need to share info. with someone.

Tainted with what? The blood is routinely tested for a variety of factors. There are screening tests done before donation.
These have been in place for several years.
