I havent even seen an eye specialist yet ( will go to one tomorow), but i deff think my eyes are weak..i cant read number plates from like 20.5m....so i just wanted to know whether i can go for contacts right away or usually you have to wear the glasses first and then buy contacts? coz i read somewhere that people have to wear glasses for like 3 months before they can wear contacts?

Please advise?

Everytime I take my contacts out, it feels like there is something in my right eye. I rub it, but nothing comes out. I've looked everywhere, but there is nothing in my eye. I try using drops, but they do nothing. I just went to the clinic and was basically told I'm "crazy" because they can't find anything wrong with my eye. It's really bugging me. I can't sleep because it bothers me so much. I'm afraid to put my contacts back in because I fear they might be doing the damage. Although the doctor claims my eyes are fine. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I am currently perfect in one eye and negative 2.75 in the other. The bad one is steadily decreasing. It was -2.5 a year ago and -2 two years ago.

I heard about this process, where I would wear a patch over my lazy eye for 2hrs. a day, and that in three months, maybe even a yr., my blurred vision and lens dislocation will adjust to a more normal state.
I am 21, so I was wondering if it's still safe to do this. This is usually recommended for children who are diagnosed cross eyed early on. I think at one point I became lazy eyed, after a fight I had. But with this vision therapy I may be able to get my brain cells to learn how to work with my clear eye as well.

Only respond if you know about this process, no dumb remarks.

I am over 50 and have had a 'lazy eye' all my life.I have had 3 perations to straighten it,at 3 years,16 and 20.
After my last operation the surgeon told me that operations don't fix the problem .I don't remember ever having binocular vision.
My eye remained reasonably straight in appearance until after i turned 40 and began doing work that involved a lot of
looking at text for up to 3 hours daily in total.
Gradually my weaker eye began to turn out and now the difference in my eyes is quite obvoius.
I am self conscious about it,don't like looking at new people when i speak to them and don't like having my photo taken.
I am working on a visual therapy programme at the moment with my optometrist.
I have just started working with a Eyeport.
If anyone has experienced improvement without an operation I would love to know your experience.
I know children can be helped but what about an older person like myself?

I am farsighted in one eye, and nearsighted in the other, so I have a weird prescription. I also have astigmatism. My right eye isn't very bad, but my left is. Is it normal to have this type of sight?

i began carrying a lucky rabbits foot and no lukc came to me, so to solve this problem i went to the city zoo and stole a leprechaun from the reptile exibhit, it has brought me much luck and fortune but unfortunatley the city zoo tried to sue me so i was forced to slay them all and with all the zooworkers dead all the animals escaped and are now roaming the streets freely, but the problem is that now bears are in congress, the courts are run by pythons, the president is a monkey, and giraffes have the right to vote, what should i do to get these rights back to humans only?

Do they really work in preventing eyesight deterioration for people who are dependent on lenses to see? Is there really a conspiracy with optometrist/optical groups who make their money selling people glasses to downplay the usefulness of pinhole eyeglasses? I'm just curious.

I just some "gas permeable" lenses (which is by now a misnomer). One of my previous doctors had asked if I'd ever heard of keratoconus. This refers to a conical shape of a cornea. I asked him what the treatment was. He said rigid/gas perm lenses, which will tend to flatten them. My most recent prescription was with another doctor, and I requested gas perm lenses. I got the lenses and a starter kit. I was very pleased. These lenses have a coating that allows me to not have to do daily cleaning and enzyming. The starter kit was a single bottle of Alcon Unique pH. It is no longer in stores, and the Alcon website says it has been discontinued due to declining gas perm usage worldwide. I tried Optimum by Lobab Labs, and it burned the fire out of my eye when I put the lens in. It seems you must rinse with a different solution. Other wearers say they hate the Boston system. Is there a replacement that doesn't require rinsing or more steps? Users just rave about Unique pH on the 'Net.
