I havent even seen an eye specialist yet ( will go to one tomorow), but i deff think my eyes are weak..i cant read number plates from like 20.5m....so i just wanted to know whether i can go for contacts right away or usually you have to wear the glasses first and then buy contacts? coz i read somewhere that people have to wear glasses for like 3 months before they can wear contacts?

Please advise?

when i was faced with that decision, i went for the glasses first, knowing that the contacts would irritate me after awhile. But it didnt take me long to get contacts either. It helps to have both eventually!

I'd get glasses first. The contacts maybe hard on your eyes. But as a contact wearer I must say to still try the contacts and if you do like them, you'll never go back to glasses. I buy contacts and new lenses at the same time. This way you can get use to the contacts while the lenses/glasses are being made. And when I first started wearing contacts it took about an hour to put them in and the same of taking them out so just be patient. I hope this helps.

I advise getting some glasses.

Two main reasons:
you may find you only want to use the correction occasionally, not all the time, and that wearing pattern much better suits spectacles.

Or, if you do want a correction most or all of the time, and go for contacts, it is still important to have a back-up pair of spectacles (leave them in the car... it's THE crucial place, and if you're at home, they're at home too)
And if you've got them, you won't be so tempted to over-wear your contacts, or wear them when they or your eyes are playing up, even though you know you shouldn't (but want to see).

I'd say, get glasses first, you can always get contacts later if you don't like glasses. Even if later you wind up wearing contact lenses "all the time" you would still want a pair of glasses for "emergency use" like if you get pink eye, or scratch a cornea, lose a contact lens etc. I know several people who for one reason or another temporarily couldn't wear contacts and they had no glasses, it was a real inconvienience!

i had trouble seeing and as soon as i got the glasses, i also got contacts. i wear contacts all of the time and i never wear glasses, except before putting then in or after taking them out. go for contacts right away. they are way better than wearing glasses, especcialy if u have braces like me ;)
