is there a place where you can donate used glasses? a place where they take them to like 3rd world countries where people don't get glasses?

Almost all optical offices accept them. Especially if they actually have opticians (the ones who make glasses).

Third world countries need more than just glasses, and even if you donated the frames, it'd be unlikely that they'd have an eye doctor to find their correction and lab to create the lenses.

However, you CAN donate them to your local Lion's Club. They provide eyeglasses at a reduced, or sometimes at no cost, to people who can't afford them right here in the USA.

Lions clubs run recycle bins and the glasses are used in 3rd world counties
Others are red cross, or oxfam and such organisation all will take them
Check with your local branches

You can probably just give to them to any eye doctor's office. They will most likely know what to do with them or give them to the right party that does. If they can't use the lenses again, I'm sure someone could always use a pair of frames.

Lion's Clubs always take them. So do a lot of optical stores like Lenscrafters.

If there's a LensCrafters in your area, they accept old eyeglasses.
