ok actually my ex g/f has both of these. She went to her doctor and was diagnosed with clinical depression. The anxiety i really dont know if they were takin it seriously but the gave her some medication and that was it. If anybody knows she goes to kaiser permenente, i really dont know how good their services are with mental health. I mean she really changes moods a lot, one second shes nice then u say 1 wrong thing and she turns into a monster. I really do think her depression led to our break up. Shes gettin a lot of stress from her family and she doesnt see the light at the end of the tunnel with us. She was never like this. its jus so weird, she totally changed, she cant talk on the phone w/ me or anyone else cuz she gets panic attacks and i think she scared to talk to me cuz she thinks we r going to fight. We havent talked in a month but i think she called me last night and jus stood on the phone while i said hello. Does depression & anxiety do this? will u lose sight of love?

I've already been diagnosed as schizoaffective bipolar. Now I'm showing signs of OCD, by checking things constantly, counting, having to find patterns, liking things to be symmetrical, and today I brushed my teeth more than usual because I kept feeling dirty. If I'm rinsing out a bowl or cup and the water gets on me, I feel contaminated and dirty. I also have a mild hoarding tendency, as in I keep everything and don't like throwing things away because I could use it "someday".

My dad has OCD, but not to the point where it interferes with his life, so he's on no medication. I'm already on three for my two disorders. Could this be because of the disorders, since I've been like this before the meds? I want input, since i don't see my doc until the 15th and this is driving me crazier.

Confidence was not instilled in me (by myself of my folks) when I was younger and now I'm paying the price. I'm very shy and really self-concious of what others think. I want to become mentally tough and not care what anyone else says about me. What do you recommend?

Basically, I'm sixteen, and even though I'm not completely unfortunate looking or weird, I still haven't had a boyfriend, let alone many friends. I really feel like I've been missing out, and I don't want to leave high school with regrets. So my questions are: Do the medications really work? What ones are best? And how can I deal with this on my own in the mean time?

I babysit a child whose mother is bipolar, which is highly hereditary I've been told. The child exhibits a lot of behaviours that make me wonder whether he also has this disorder. For example:

- laughing uncontrollably when being disciplined (i.e. timeout, or a talking-to)

- lots of "exclusive" behaviours, i.e. "we're pals but so-and-so is stupid"

- appears deaf half of the time, which I assume is just "tuning out" due to bipolar episodes from parent at home, but it's really hard to get his attention.

Anyone with experience in this area, I'd appreciate your ideas how to work with this child? Thanks.

I'm 23 years old and I've decided I don't like working full-time. I intend to live out the rest of my life working fewer than 40 hrs/wk. I live in San Francisco, which is pretty sweet, but I'd consider moving to a cheaper area nearby. Anyone have any success stories?

I am 29 years old. This year I was diagnosed with a 3cm pineal germinoma. I believe that my symptoms started six years prior when I started to develop psychotic symptoms and heinous seasonal effect disorder and cfs . I could not tolerate any psychotropic meds and have almost been killed by my violent reactions to antipsychotic meds. I am frustrated because western doctors that attended to my treatment suggest that the pineal gland does not do anything and is not considered an important endocrine gland. They recognize its importance in melatonin secretion but believe it does very little otherwise. Metaphysical data is extremely at odds with western medicine and really illuminates my experiences of having a pineal growth. I suffer from uncontrollable thoughts, pressure in my mid face (pineal eye region), intracranial pressure, hallucinations- hallucinations con

for almost the past year i've been feeling depressed.... I cry, sometimes for no reason. i think about an ex all the time and its been over a year since we've split. i feel like i am not worthy of anything or anyone. i make careless mistakes all the time.... that costs me dearly.... ( it's not like i do it on purpose) . i wish i were someone else. i obsess about the way i look, and it's still never good enough to me. i try to keep happy spirits...it works for a little while but theses feeling always come back. i'm only 17. maybe its all in my head.
