Hey I resent that-Im a gemini! :P Anyhow anyone can have a bipolar disorder. Some people state geminis have two personalities but that's speculation. Unless you're really superstitious...
Like I said anyone can have a bipolar disease:Look below...
Bipolar Disorder is a very serious condition in which the person experiences unusually intense cycles of clinical depression and/or mania, hypomania, and/or mixed states. The disorder can cause great distress among those afflicted and those living with them. Bipolar disorder can be a disabling condition, with a higher-than-average risk of death through suicide. Bipolar disorder can vary in severity and affect people differently. There are many very high functioning bipolar people of above average creativity, and also those with life threatening depression symptoms. .
The difference between bipolar disorder and unipolar disorder (also called major depression) is that bipolar disorder involves both elevated and depressive mood states. The duration and intensity of mood states varies widely among people with the illness. Fluctuating from one mood state to the next is called "cycling". Mood swings can cause impairment or improved functioning depending on their direction (up or down) and severity (mild to severe). There can be changes in one's energy level, sleep pattern, activity level, social rhythms and cognitive functioning. Some people may have difficulty functioning during these times.
Bipolar disorder is often a life-long condition that must be carefully managed. Because there is so much variation in severity and nature of mood problems, it is increasingly being called bipolar spectrum disorder. The spectrum concept refers to subtypes of bipolar disorder or a continuum of mood problems, that can include sub-syndromal (below the symptom threshold for categorical diagnosis) symptoms. Nassir Ghaemi, M.D., has also contributed to the development of a bipolar spectrum questionnaire. The full bipolar spectrum includes all states or phases of the bipolar disorders.
Kraepelin's (1921) construct is useful for primary care clinicians, patients and families. It describes variations in two directions (mania and depression) and of three aspects: mood, activity and thinking.

Horsecrap! I'm a bipolar gemini, and I speak from experience.
OK, so it's a mood disorder and a serious mental illness. It has a strong genetic component, but appears to be triggered environmentally. There are no diagnostic tests for it, just psychiatric evaluation. Most sufferers are not diagnosed until middle age, and it takes an average of around 8-10 years to get a correct diagnosis. Historically, figures suggested it affects about 0.8% of the population at some point, which makes it about half as common as schizophrenia. In recent years, bipolar disorder has become an 'in' diagnosis, and many more people are being diagnosed at younger and younger ages. As with ADHD, this fad may well pass with time, although for the moment many celebrities appear to be 'popularising' it.
It is characterised by episodes of severe clinical depression and mania or hypomania (for definitions of those, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_diagnostic_criteria_for_bipolar_disorder ). The extreme end of mania often turns into psychosis, complete with hallucinations and delusions. During manic phases, the person's judgement and perception of reality is severely compromised, leading to risky actions with potentially damaging consequences (financially, sexually and relationship-wise). Untreated, episodes generally worsen over time due to an effect known as kindling. Untreated Bipolar sufferers are at a very high risk of suicide: 20-25% attempt it, and 15% succeed.
The cycles in bipolar disorder are much longer than people generally believe. Anyone whose mood changes from minute to minute is very unlikely to be bipolar. Bipolar 1 is characterised by mood episodes lasting many months, while Bipolar 2 has episodes in the region of weeks to months. Rapid and ultra-rapid cycling bipolar disorder is rare, and cycles last days to weeks.
There are many drugs available to treat the symptoms of bipolar (there is no cure). These are either anti-convulsants or anti-psychotics (personally I take both), and the most well known of these is Lithium. These drugs are heavy duty psychiatric medications and are not to be taken lightly, and most if not all of them have a range of side effects including lethargy, photosensitivity, cognitive impairment (dumb as a box of rocks), weight gain, hormone problems, hair loss and blood problems. These side effects have to be weighed against the benefits of mood stabilisation. Most patients will go through a number of different drugs before finding one that works for them.

Bipolar disorder, which is also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in a person's mood, energy, and ability to function. I have a friend who is bipolar too. I don't think it's common in geminis...I don't think your horoscope has much impact on whether you're bipolar or not.

It's probably about as common in Geminis' as it is in people named Tricia.
Can you tell I have a June birthday? I must say I do think we have a bit of a split personality.
That's why Gemini is known as the Twins.

First of all, blaming someone's personality on distant, flaming balls of gas far, far away in space is absolutely assinine. People who let the rhythmic movement of the constellations rule thier lives are simply scared to take responsibility for their own actions. As for your friend being Bipolar, if She IS, it is nothing to laugh at. Being Bipolar isn't the easiest thing to live with. You have extreme emotional HIGHS and LOWS , and there is no telling when these two emotional states are going to switch on you . One minute you could be laughing hysterically with friends and then a moment later, start crying because laughing that hard reminds you hurt, and then suddenly start crying. Ifyou think its easy to live with , try it for a day. I think someone who is as judgemental and critical of a friend as you sound probably couldn't HANDLE it. Its exhausting and emotionally wrenching.

i'm a Gemini and that i want to first answer your question. No, they don't look to be loopy, notwithstanding that's exciting of you to imagine so. Geminis have 2 aspects that ought to get jumbled in between one yet another the position they're commonly analytical/shy/self sustaining, headstrong/obdurate/too quick-reacting. those features may also blend in between one yet another to boot, like being analytical/headstrong. What i have chanced on and what human beings want to comprehend is that features for a particular human being of a particular signal are comparable to human beings interior that signal, notwithstanding it also relies upon on elevating circumstances, start order and, if searching deeper into signs and indicators, on a daily foundation less than the signal. human beings raised a similar way less than one signal can tutor similar, yet distinction continues to be the day of start. operating example, human beings say Geminis like to talk, Geminis cheat on human beings, Geminis make good associates, Geminis are very flaky, Geminis are misunderstood and shy, Geminis are positive and determined, because of the diverse day and way raised. also, believe it or no longer, I have Bi-Polar Gemini pal, so possibly your co-worker absolutely is that way, because they could absolutely be Bi-Polar.
