Last night I just couldn't go to bed, my mind and body wouldn't allow me to. I only got 3 hours of sleep, and I found it hard to function/be happy in school on that little of sleep. I just couldn't fall asleep. I was laying there for HOURS.

Anyone know a fast way to fall asleep? I really need help on this one.

I think I took my dose too high too quick. On day 7, my Dr ok'd 100mg which I think was a big mistake. Everyday since then I have had really bad headaches.........From how i have described them everyone keeps telling me they are muscular or tension headaches. Over the next week, I gradually went down to 75 for a few days and then down to 50mg. Yesterday morning I had a follow up with my dr, and told her what was going on, and she switched me to lexapro, 10mg. I am not going to rush it this time, but has anyone had headache problems with zoloft? Once my system finally levels out will these headaches ease off? I am currently on flexeril and advil to try and combat them, and am going for a ct scan tomorrow morning as a precaution. I am just really frustrated because they seem to start in the morning, and go all day, and make it hard to work and just live life. Any advice?

He is 9 and has shown this behavior for a few years, and it is getting worse. He cannot focus on tasks, cannot follow through, does not listen, displays impulsive behavior, has very fidgety hands, etc. His mother has been diagnosed with ADHD but refuses to admit that there could be anything wrong with him - she says "he does not like structure". Where do we start if she refuses to accept this?

My doctor just prescribed 150 mg of wellbutrin xl for me and he said after a week i can up it to 300 mg if i wanted so that would mean taking two of the 150's until i go back to see him in a month. My question is i take them BOTH at the same time not half way through the day right?A friend thinks i should take one in the morning and another at night and i think because its XL that the effect is meant to last 24 hours and should be taken once a day all 300 mg. Also has anyone had weight loss or loss of appetite from this med.?

I'm writing a book and my character has insomnia, I was wondering if any one out there can help me with my research on the condition. I'm looking for a person, preferably a female - as my character is a woman - to help me with a first hand account of what its like.

My very good friend is in the hospital in Intensive Care after a horrible accident while out Cyclying. He is on his back without being able to move AT ALL. He has a breathing tube down his throat which makes it impossible for him to speak. His only communication (when he is not completely sedated) is by blinking his eyes and sometimes by squeazing a hand.

When he is alert, he gets VERY aggitated and wants to pull the breathing tube out. He is very strong minded and very independent. The doctors say that he cannot continue to get aggitated like he does or else he will cause even more damage to himself including death.

My Question: What should I tell him when I speak to him? Remember, he is Strong minded (Hard Headed) and is obviously extremely scared, frustrated and sad. He may not be able to walk again and he knows that. What can be said to a person in this situation to give him hope and to have him calm down in order to get better? Thanks so much for your responses.

I always have mixed feelings about everything i'm experiencing but most of the time, i'm not a happy person. I think part of the reason is the community I live in.

I went to see my family doc. about a week ago to see how I am doing on Effexor. I told him I feel a little bit better (I have only been on it for 3 weeks today). I am feeling very depressed again. Should I call him and ask to up my doseage? I am on 75mg daily. Or should I just give it more time since I have only been on it for 3 weeks? I can't afford to see a shrink right now. I am lucky to pay for my medications. please help!!!!!!!!!

My two friends have known each other since late 2002. She is 29 and he is 20. They would do friend stuff like hang out at game shops, anime club, other places, talk about anything and everything on there minds, even share what would be bothering them at the time. After holiday weekend (12/26/05) that all changed,he'd stop e-mailing,IMing,calling on the phone, hanging out, etc. She didn't know why this happened to her,it didn't happen to me or anyone else both of them knew. I do know that those kind of actions, hurt her (still do) deeply inside. He never gave a reason why he was doing that to her.

Around April of this year, she offered a carpool to her friends to a regional up in MN. He aggreed to it,but then less than a week later he told another friend (behind her back) that he wasn't going to be carpooling with her but taking his car instead. When she heard that it hurt her deeply he said, did this without talking about to her in person.

I started cutting 6 years ago. Nobody knows around me and it has to stay that way!
Everyday I fear that someone would find out about me and then everything would go really bad. They'd bring me to our doc & then I'd end up in the hospital tied up to the bed to make sure I don't self harm anymore after they see my body and they'd call a psychologist & things would only get worse!
I don't want that to happen & I so fear that! Everyday I hide!
In a bad day I can cut up to 10 times & sometimes it's so bad I hit an artery & scare myself as I see it's hard to stop bleeding.
I've tried to kill myself a few times, before starting cutting already.
I only realized last year I was addicted to cutting as I tried to stop and couldn't! Since then I've tried a few times to stop but I cant. Only for a few days sometimes but it's so hard and I get those urges to cut! I wish I could stop! It's too hard! I'm so lost & hurt!
The only way to be delivered from that would be to die!
I'm a 22 y/o woman

Parents please, what do I tell my child?
My child is a teenager with moderate cognitive delay. (Mental Retardation) He always wants to know what is wrong I keep telling him everyone is different. It is so difficult because he looks "normal". but after talking to him you understand why he is in a special class, I am told that he will never be on his own.
He wants to be like other kids. He talks about driving, girls, working, reading, I am an educated person. I am not dealing with this and I do not know what to tell him. Especially when the word retard is sp prevelant. He even has a personal care aid at home. He rebells and says "I can do that "then he just stands there and he is not doing it.
I have looked on-line read books for many years. I need some advice. I can not put it off. HE IS JUST above the range where he is happily unaware. He is aware but ......can you please??

Additional Details

he is painfully aware
