I was prescribed the same dosages of Welbutrin XL after I lost my first wife in a car accident. The doctor told me it didn't matter if I took both 150mg pills at the same time or if I took one in the morning and one at night. So I'd say do what's most convenient for you. And yes, I did experience loss of appetite and weight loss, but I'm not sure how much of that was the Welbutrin and how much of that was just being depressed. The good thing was I had little to no sexual side effects...but we won't go there.

I have previously been on the regular Wellbutrin with no problems what so ever. Then I stopped taking after many months because I didn't need it. However due to being laid off, stress and worrying constantly I needed to get back on something. Due to a lack of job and money this time around I got the generic form of it. I have taken it so far 8 days. And yesterday I broke out with like welts all over that itched. Plus my lip swelled up about 3 times it's normal size. I started taken benadryl because I didn't know what caused it and figured it was an allergic reaction to something. Last night I was also extremely restless and could not sleep. I woke up today with more welts in different places and very itchy hands and palms. My hands are now swollen and the itching will not stop no matter what I do. So I didn't take it today and am calling my doctro right away tomorrow. So to make a long story short I definately see a difference between the generic and regular brand. Hope that gives you some insight.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Wellbutrin causes an decrease in the threshold for seizures and thats why they split the doses up.
Usually they recommend you take one in the morning and the second one at noon. That way it doesn't keep you up at night. The XL indicates it is slow release and melts slowly in your system. Doesnt' have to cover 24hrs exactly.
It is NOT a weight loss drug. It will help you stop smoking...it's other name is xyban. It is good for depression with mimimal side effects. When you feel less depressed you can exercise more and that helps weight loss. Some people report loss of appetite from it, but it is a side effect not a purpose of the drug.
Follow directions, don't abuse it, and get counselling to support you in the issues you are dealing with.
Good luck.

Loss of appetite, loss of sex drive, suicidal thoughts. I was on 150 mg of Wellbutrin years ago and I felt crazier on it than I did before I started taking it. I'm as sexually aggressive as a man but when I was on that stuff it was like my sex drive went on vacation. There was nothing my boyfriend could do to get me in the mood. All I did was cry. I felt weird all the time and finally I stopped taking it. I've heard good things about Paxil, and Prozac, and Xanax but I've never taken any of those.

I take 300 mg in 150mg increments too. My psychiatrist says take one in the morning and then the other around lunch time, I don't remember or maybe he didn't say why not to take them at the same time. But he did say that if I take Wellburtrin too late in the day it can keep you up at night. No appetite or weight changes, been taking it for over a year.

I was taking 300mg and wound up with a brain tumor and heart disease at 16 years old. I also went from 105 pounds to about 80 because of loss of appetite. I think you should stick with the 150mg or smaller. But if you want to take all 300mg, be sure to eat and take them at once. Skipping a day or abusing the drug will cause troubles. Also, if you are taking something else, be sure you are tested to make sure the drugs won't clash or cause harm.
Edit:// I felt better after not taking it and just talking my issues out. Try something else. I don't suggest Lexapro it's just as sh*tty of a drug. I heard Xanax is wonderful, but hopefully you'll be happier soon and able to live without deadly drugs.

Yes.....I went from 168 to 147 since May of this year. The meds have helped me stop snacking and also decrease my appitite when eating meals. I'm not sure about your dosage questions, you need to ask a pharmacist or your doctor about this. Don't rely on a friend's advice unless they are an MD. I also used "Medifast" during that time...it works, but is an extremely aggressive diet.

I was told once a day by my doctor. You should do what he thinks is best. You and him together make your life better. Not one against the other unless your doctor is an idiot.
