There is nothing wrong with disabled people, there is something wrong with the rest of the world when they cannot see that everyone is the same, even with our differences. The people who are giving your friend a hard time because of her mother are probably scared that if it can happen to her, it can happen to them. It's truely amazing how many people do that. It even happens to people who lose a loved one... I am not sticking up for these people at all, I myself have been shunned because on of my children is disabled and the other son died in a car accident. I get shunned for my surviving son and also the one who died. The only advice I can give to your friend is to STAND STRONG! There is nothing "wrong" with her mother, just because she has a disability doesn't give anyone the right to judge her or her family for loving eachother and helping eachother. It will make her a much stronger person in the end. I tell my son he's the smartest kid in his class, just because he's in grade 2 and cannot keep up with the rest of the class, he had to learn to walk & talk two times, he maybe struggling now but even if he's not an honour student, he's still the most amazing child that I know, and the strongest!

People make fun of the disabled because they are insecure about themselves. It's just another way to make others feel as low as them. Tell your friend, that she, her mother, nor ANYONE else in her family is to blame for these jerks.

People are scared of being disabled. So they make light of a disabled persons position. The same thing goes for overweight people.

Those that make seriously fun about them belong to the mental health sections of hospitals. For what is there actually so funny about such a sad thing in a persons life?

Any one who makes a fun of disabled is a coxcomb who does not understand that it is by a quirk of chance that he/she is not disabled.

People are cruel, rude and inconsiderate. Just ignore the rude comments people make, they'll get what's coming to them.

people make fun of disabled people because they are uncivilized and their brain is disabled ...............................stand beside your friend in hard sitations and support her.........she is not responsible that her mother is disabled and her mother also isn't responsible of that. GOD created her like that and she must accept this..
Best wishes
