Last night I just couldn't go to bed, my mind and body wouldn't allow me to. I only got 3 hours of sleep, and I found it hard to function/be happy in school on that little of sleep. I just couldn't fall asleep. I was laying there for HOURS.

Anyone know a fast way to fall asleep? I really need help on this one.

I tried all those. I prayed, I counted up to like 1,000, I had things on my mind, but it always came back to those things. And then I started clipping my nails!

It sucked!.. I should really ask my mom for those sleeping pills. I hate how when you get no sleep, you're really depressed the next day.

are you just getting back into school?
I had sleeping problems similar to that over the summer, eventually leading to sleeping pills, which are not that great...

Anyway there is no fast way to fall asleep. Try to keep a sleep routine, even on the weekend.
If you find yourself in bed awake for more than 30 mins go read or do something until you feel tired again and then try sleeping
The key is trying to clear your head, and getting enough activity during the day, etc.

YOu need to relax and try not to think about all the things that are bothering you.

If you still can't sleep, a natural thing that you can take is melatonin. Sometimes peoples bodies won't produce it by themselves and so taking 1 melatonin pill might help.

There's also Unisom, which is an over the counter medication, it works really well. You could also go to a doctor and get a prescription for sleep aids but I wouldn't recomment that.

Hope that helps!

I used to sleep less than 30 hrs/week.
Melatonin is the answer. I take up to 6 tablets a night at 3mg each. You may want to start off with 1. Take melatonin 25 minutes before bedtime.

Try staying away from any pills, epecially if you are a teen, a lot of them can become addicting.

Cut your caffeine intake. Like, no caffeine after 1 pm. Sounds crappy, I know, but it may make a huge difference and it's worth a shot.

Find something that is very relaxing for you..music or deep breaths or whatever. Make sure your room is VERY dark. Also, try some "white noise", like a fan blowing.

Good luck~

Well there is many many ways to try.

One that is the first is make sure and have a warm relaxing bath, drink warm milk, cover into a really warm blanket, even if you want you should put it in the dryer for about 5/10 mins and really warm it up.. then just lay there, and try not to think of anything... just lay and think about relaxing.

COUNT! I do it every nite! lay down, take a few deep breaths to slow your heart, get comfy, dont think of anything else. Just concentrate on counting slowly in your head, if something else pops in there start over. I usually count to 30, then start over & before I can get to 30 again...IM OUT! Good Luck!

Read. If you wear glasses, keep a bag with glasses case on the floor beside your bed. Get used to recognizing when to take off the reading glasses if you wear them, and when to switch off the light. Let yourself go to sleep in a very short time.

counting sometimes works... unless you are distracted by some thoughts that won't let you sleep. in such cases, when i can't sleep because of the thoughts haunting me, i try to count my respiration as in approximately 3 seconds to breathe in and other 3 to breathe out... counting in my mind, at the same time... it's not the easiest thing to do and it does require some practice... but it always worked when no other solution did...

The best way to fall asleep is a soothing bath or even a warm glass of milk.

Do a few exercises like push-ups, you'll get tired temporarily, and then collapse into bed, which'll be the spark for the sleep.
