People are rude for one major reason. rudeness is due to one's insecurities. that one person does not expect to trust anybody because they feel they don't trust themselves. Anybody who lashes out at another is actually raising a defense mechanism in order to simulate that they are protecting themselves.(i.e. breaking up with a boyfriend or girlfriend because they are afraid it will happen to them.) Hope it made sense

Today's generation is quite a bit different from the way the world was when I was growing up. Morals, values and common courtesy are sorely lacking in the majority of the population. However, there are exceptions -- there are some really nice and considerate people -- you just don't encounter them as often. Life is what a person makes of it. One can choose to be either trash or treasure -- it's entirely up to the individual. Do your part to be a shining example to your own children, and they, in turn will do the same. The world itself will never be perfect, but we can only do the best we can, and live by the Golden Rule.

You are so right. I can really tell how rude people are by the way they answer qusestions. Some of these people I would not give the time of day. This could be why they are on here answering questions. Maybe they are so bored and don't have many friends.

You're right, there's so much bitterness and hate in the world. I'd say it's because people think they'll live forever. If only they had a sense of how fragile life is, they would not waste their precious time on pettiness. It's a shame.

Everyone is raised differently. The only way to counter a lack of love is by giving more love yourself. People are basically good, and it will catch on. There is so much joy to spread in the world.

I've tried figuring out this question myself. I know television has alot to do with it. The programs we see now are reality shows, where people are rude and back stab each other. This has become a way of life. Also, religion has gone to the back burner.
People now adays are all for themselves and no one else.

I honestly feel it's because we are in a rush rush world. Everybody is in a hurry-they don't take the time to visit and meet their neighbors like they did years ago-both moms and dads are working. They try to make up for time lost with their kids by buying them things. Plus, they try to accomplish everything. It's like trying to keep up with what everyone else has. To me, it seems that they value them self with their physical possessions.
Those that don't have as much don't seem to be "as good" as they are.

If that's how you feel about the people around you I would suggest you either move to a nicer suburb or change your circle of friends. There are many many wonderful people out there you're just not where they are.

I'm not outwardly rude to people, but it's really hard sometimes because the level of stupidity in some people is staggering!

IMHO the main reason people are rude is due to no fear of consequences. They have rarely had to face any rebuttal for their lack of tact and grace.
