I always have mixed feelings about everything i'm experiencing but most of the time, i'm not a happy person. I think part of the reason is the community I live in.

I feel like noone really cares about me and there are times that I blame myself for things that occur.

You need to make a decision to be happy, regardless of what is going on around you. The key to a successful, happy life is a positive attitude. Some of the greatest people in the world came from "not-so-great" communities. The power to overcome challenges comes from within. Find a morning tantra or prayer and repeat it whenever you feel low. You can be whoever you want to be. Smile and be happy. Life is a gift.

I can understand that. I can get that way too. One thing you should not do is take the blame for others. If people do not like you then that is their problem for not seeing what kind of person you are. People always seem to have a problem with me and I really do not care. I do not have the time to waste on them. You should doing things you like when you feel bad. I also just try to shut everything out. Not best way I know but sometimes it helps. I am also a loner so I let that get to me.

The best way to deal with emotions (mind you, this is coming from a GUY - and we don't deal with emotions) is to realize that the emotions are a bit like the other parts of the body in terms of sensation.

We have ways of detecting temperature and pain and tickles and stuff.

We also have ways of detecting happy and sad and angry and stuff too.

When we experience things in our life, we have sensations (ouch! or Mmmm chocolate!) but we also have emotions (*fume* I hate it when that person tells me off! or *happy sigh* oh the hot receptionist told me she had a dream about me last night)

We like the things that make us happy and we are more likely to repeat them (Mmmm sushi!)

We dislike the things that make us sad (ow - asked the girl out and crashed and burned and got laughed at)

Sometimes we have mixed feelings. We like this a bit but don't like this.

It's a bit like when we have sensations that are a bit mixed too ... Mmmm nice to lie in the sun but ouch! Bad to have sunburn!

You need to accept that feelings occur and they are part of you for a good reason. Use them to try and understand your surroundings and your interaction with your environment.

If you are unhappy with the community you live in (this is an emotion) you may need to

(1) move away
(2) change the community
(3) change yourself

first you have to learn to be your own best friend--you didnt state how old you are but you can always move away and create a better life for yourself. you cant blame the community for how you react to things--it is up to you to make the change no matter where you live.

I'm not sure how old you are or your family situation but if you are in school you should check and see if they have a councilor to talk to. You sound depressed. I would definitely seek some kind of help before it gets worse even someone who you consider a good friend, and admire. Good luck :)

I'm sorry for what you are going through and I have gone through the same thing. If you don't take care of this now, it only gets worse, trust me!! I suggest that you seek counseling and keep a journal - it helps to write things down and get them out...

laughter and sorrow are two sides of the coin. just like life and death, heaven and hell , we have to learn to adapt to living with both, the almighty and the devil
