It's the end of the day, and I've had a headache since 2:00 this afternoon. I've taken 2 extra strength Tylenol and an 800 mg Skelaxin pill — neither have touched it. I'm assuming the headache's from my back and neck being very sore. I've been dealing with 3 different doctor's for my back pain (the neck just started in yesterday) and no one is willing to act aggressively. They've told me to take Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, ..... and I ALREADY have — and have told them that, but I think they think I'm going to get addicted to something if they give me anything heavier. I've never been on pain pills before except for when I had my tubes tied, and I didn't even finish the whole prescription. So there's nothing in my past that would give them any indications that I'm prone to addiction or anything. Now that all the medical offices are closed — and not that I have many other choices anyway, should I go to the ER or will it be the same thing there as all the other places I've gone?

This is non-work related. I injured my hand in the area between my fingers and my wrist. I initially experienced a hot sensation followed by a chill in my hand. I went to the doctor and she gave me a comfortable splint to wear at night only because the splint keeps me from doing normal things during the day.

So a couple of weeks pass by and my hand is still aching and if I'm using a tool at my job (especially a screwdriver!!!) I have this sharp pain in that area. I've put an icepack on my hand at night and in the morning. Doctor says that I haven't broken any bones. It is taking forever to heal, and the muscle relaxer and ibuprofen pills aren't helping.

What are some alternative products or methods to use along with the RICE method? I'm trying to Rest, use Ice as much as I can but I'm also looking for employment.

For a few days now I've had pain in my right wrist, forearm, and bicept. It hurts mostly in my wrists, but will spread to my forearm sometimes and my bicept. My right arm feels week.

I want to be a massage therapist(going to school for it) and this is worrying me...alot. I'm going to the doctor on Thursday, but just thought I'd get some info on what it could be before I go.

Me and my friend were talking and eventually got stated on groin pains. For both of us, we've had occurences, out of the blue, where we get this pain that literally bowls us over in agony. It is in the groin area and, I'm guessing, probably associated with the balls. Any clues to what is happening down there?

I don't cut that often, only when I need to feel the sting of relief. After I cut I feel like I can finally breath as if I had been holding by breath all day.

three weeks ago, whilst swimming, felt a dull pian in my thigh.after a week, different pains surfaced, sharp shooting pain from the top front of thigh down to knee cap, also shooting pain on outside of leg past knee to half way along shin bone and to the right of shin bone. two weeks with all these pains, found it difficult to walk. now, three weeks, walking is almost unbearable.cant put much weight on right leg, where all the pain is. im ok sitting down or in bed. havent done any exercise for 3 weeks.theres no back pain, my neck is fine,my left leg is fine.on the few occasions, when im able to walk, has to be short steps and slowly.can move my knee- no pain, can move my hip-no pain.just when i come to put weight on right leg, then the pain starts.i struggle about with a stick.my leg feels stiff. gp says, coud be sciatica and told me to go to a physio.im really fed up..if i cant walk, i wont be able to work.

My mom, 51, just saw a podiatrist this afternoon who told her that one of the joints in her toe (next to the big one) is bone on bone, which is causing serious discomfort. The Dr. put her on a mega dose of Motrin for a week to see if that would help the pain, etc. But she said there's really nothing that will make it better. It's just part of arthritis and will only get worse as she ages. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, what can be done about it? Is toe joint replacement an option? Cock's comb injections? Cortisone?

Have you ever had pluerisy? I think I have it, but have not seen doc yet. Just started yesterday, pain at bottom of ribs, left side. Today pain is just below breast bone, sharp quick pain with movement; sharp pain breathing; tender to touch. Dry cough, very painful to cough. Sound familiar? I have never had this problem before.

SOS! The doctor said I have an ear infection and I'm on antibiotics...
BUT MY EAR IS STILL KILLING ME!

Ok, it's true I got them yesterday, but my ear is unbearable!

Does anyone have any practical pain-killer methods that aren't medicine?

I tried the heat pad, but that didn't help. It was just really... hot.

Help my poor little ear!

Is there anyone out there with similar issues who has sucessfully had their own or adopted children? Are there ways to be a stay at home mom with my limitations?

One day the pain may be on top, the next day the pain is on the side, etc. I have tried insoles, new shoes, ointments, but othing seems to help. I know losing weight will help, but what can I do to get rid of the pain? I can barely walk sometimes, let alone stand for any period of time. All suggestions are welcome. HELP!!!

I woke up with my ear hurting, and I figure I'll just take some medicine for now and if it doesn't get better I'll go see my M.D.

What over-the-counter medicines work best for an ear ache?
