I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia a month ago. I am 23 years old. I thought I was having some horrible back problems; couldn't sleep or even stand for just a few minutes without feeling like I was going to die from the pain. I am chronically tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I get, and feel nauseous frequently. Also, I don't know if this is a factor, but I used to be 155 lbs, and am down now to about 130 (I'm 5'7"). Can you give me any advice as to how to deal or cope with this disease? Thanks!

I have been on and off Vicodin for months now due to cervical spine surgery. My pain is in control now and I don't feel that I need the Vicodin anymore. It has become a daily routine though and I am worried about the withdrawals I may have if I don't take it anymore. I am on day two now of not taking it and I'm feeling fine. I don't think it is that simple though. Am I going to get sick?

Nevermind why, but will aspirin help, or will that irritate it more? It is just irritated. I don't want to take an antacid b/c that causes weight gain, and I know it from past experience. Ugh I can hardly stand it. Hot drinks seem to help temporarily.

Recently, I went in for surgery on my shoulder and right befoore they put me under the knife, I was given sleeping medication through IV and I had no recollection of ever being in surgery. I am wondering what was the name of that medication please ? Also the night my shoulder dislocated and the dr. came in to pop my shoulder back in place, I was given a very wonderful meducation through IV and it was very fast acting but wears off really quickly too. What are the names of those two very different sleeping medications please ?

Hi - after my CT scan and blood tests came back fine, i have been referred to a neurosurgeon for my headaches. The headaches are on the left side of my head, above the eyebrow and become increasingly painful (almost like shocks) throughout the day and when i am asleep which wake me up. Has anyone else ever had this sort of headache before and what other tests will a neurosurgeon do that my GP hasn't already done. Thanks

Friends, I am in Singapore for the past 5 months and i have tried all sorts of treatments for my chronic condition of back pain for almost 1.5 years. I tried Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, massage, Yoga, ayurveda, homeopathy, laser acupuncture, etc. But i have not even had a wee bit of relief. I am living with pain for almost 24 hours for the past 1 year. Can someone point to the right place in singapore? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ram

Hi am and 26 years old and I have been having severe headaches for almost 3 weeks now.. I get usually atleast 3 a week. They are very severe but usually only one one side of the head. The one I have today seems to be only in the back of the head.. I have tried everything. The medicine, the patches, everything I can think of.. Does anybody have any at home things they do to help relieve headaches. The pain is so severe that I almost feel like going to the ER but I don't think they will be too happy about someone coming in with just a headache.. So any ideas are appreciated..

I woke up this morning with searing pain in my left hip that radiated down my leg and into the small of my back. I was lying on my left side when I woke up and immediately rolled over onto my back with my knees bent which alleviated most of the pain. It hasn't really hurt all day except for a dull ache. I also had quite a few "twitches" in my left knee over the last week. I'm 23 weeks pregnant, and have heard that sciatica can be a problem during pregnancy. I have a doctor appointment next week, but would like to know if anyone here thinks this sounds like sciatica? Do you know what the common treatments are for it? Or do I just have to live with the pain?

My pain management dr didn't think that nerve blocks would work since the one branch of the superficial radial nerve is gone but they do. Now he doesn't know what to do since the nerve blocks only last about a week and we can't keep doing them. Anyone have any way to permantly stop the pain?

This morning when I was sleeping I went to turn or lay a different way and I felt this horrible pain in my neck like I tore something. I layed my head down and fell asleep for a little while longer and then when I went to get up out of the bed I was hit with this excruciating pain on the left side of my neck. I tried getting up but it seemed impossible and then finally after about 30 minutes of pressing my hand tightly against the spot that hurt and slowly moving my body I was able to get up. The pain is less intense when I'm standing but I cannot lay down or sit without feeling this pain. I also can't move my neck forward too far, backwards too far or to the left too far without feeling this excruciating pain. What can I do to ease this pain please throw me some suggestions this is horrible.
