If you have a victim who has lost consciousness, and cpr does not work. Where on the neck would you make a incision and insert a straw/tube?

Just out of curiosity, when performing CPR is taking off the shirt mandatory?
Because it seems like it would be in bad taste to take off a woman's shirt in a populated area. If taking off the shirt is a must, you could at least leave the bra on right?

My right ear lobe is a little swollen this morning. I got my ears pierced 3 days ago and I really don't want them to get infected. It's not red that I can see, and its just a tad sore but nothing major. Its just a small amount of swelling. Is this a sign that I am getting an infection?

to be dislocated, I think it popped out and popped back.

I'm icing it right now, but it's a nasty bruise and my thumb from the second joint up is really burning.

I know how to handle bruises but not a possible dislocation. An emergency room trip would be really expensive, so if continuing to ice it won't cripple me, I'd like to continue.

What should I do?

I got severely sunburnt from about 45 minutes in the water at the beach on Tuesday and I have had hundreds of small and some large blisters coming up all over my shoulders and back. I don't mind the pain too much, but these damn blisters are annoying me because I can't sling a bag over my shoulder or even wear some of my clothes. I have been applying Aloe Vera directly from a plant we have growing and have also been using a Sunburn moisturizer from the local pharmacy. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of these blisters quickly?

While making the bed just now i snapped my long nail. It is bleeding and sore. I have wrapped tissue round to stop the bleeding but i don`t know whether to cover it and hope for the best or cut off the broken part. It is ripped a long way down.

I started to fall and reached out to catch myself on computer desk so I wouldn't fall onto my 2 year old son. But grabbed onto the corner and sliced my palm open. It actually took off a strip of skin with it. The cut is actually perfectly along my top crease in my palm. About 1 1/2 inches. Hard to keep shut since when I open my hand the cut opens too. Not sure if I need stitches or not. And I still ran into my son since the desk went threw my skin and didn't stop me. He's fine though. Any suggestions?

My doctor thinks it's a mosquito that's been biting me, but I think it might be bedbugs. I haven't seen any yet, nor have I seen a mosquito. I live in Brooklyn, NY in an apartment building. All I know is I have horrible allergic reactions to the bites. So, does a bite from a bedbug sting enough to wake you up in the night?

I got an industrial piercing on 10/26, during the proceeding days it got bumped a few times while giving hugs, etc. now about a week and 1/2 ago it's still a little sore but i am able to clean it without pain & spin it when i get out of the shower etc. however, the two holes are still pretty swollen, they don't hurt to touch, theyre not that red, and they have not pussed or bled. Could it be infected, or is it just healing from the bumps and pokes??

We were both at home in our rooms studying for our midterms (we're fraternal twins in all the same classes) when I heard some wheezy/shallow breathing coming from across the hall. I went into my sister's room to find her clutching her chest and gasping for breath. It seemed as though she could not breathe and calm down. Her eyes were wild, her face pale and sweaty. This kind of episode went on for another five mins. I have never seen something like this before, and I was about to call 911 when she started to calm down. It was really strange and scary! Anyone know what this was?

i have an ear cartilege pierincg for about 3 months which hasnt fully healed due to alot of trauma and bumping against. i just noticed a tiny keloid on the back of it..will it continue to grow? is there anything i can put on it that wont interfer with the acutally healing of the piercing? thanks!
