I know calling 911 would be 1st, but what can a person do before paramedics arrive or if in a remote location. I searched on internet first, and didn't find anything helpful. Please list first aid for exit and non-exit wounds.

I fell over last night and pretty badly grazed my knee.
I woke up this morning and it's gone all gungy and slimey, the bleedings stopped but now it's gone like white and euugh. Is it best to leave it to dry out or shall I keep it covered?

He doesn't feel any pain and can hear perfectly, and there is no bothering sensation. I've looked inside with a light as far as I can see and I see nothing. What would be the worst to happen? Can he get an infection? Any appropriate suggestions or knowledgeable answer would greatly help. Thank you.

Hi im 13 years old and I feel on the cement the other day and Ive got water on it (in it) the doc. said it would go away without drainage but didnt say when it would go away. does anyone know how long it takes because so far its been a week.

I thought I was removing my eye make-up with the eye make-up remover when I noticed i grabed the wrong little container and I was using rubbing alchol. Now, I put some on a q-tip and squeezed out the access. Once I noticed it was RA, I quickly flushed my eye out, There was a little burning sensation. But I'm fine now, with the occasional lil discomfort. Maybe it's in my head, I don't know. Will I be okay?

I recently got bit or maybe its an ingrown hair on my leg.However it is bright red and very sore and around the mark it is hard. the redness is the size of a bottom of a soda can. What do you think could be wrong? And what can i do to solve this i have tried peroxide and it is not helping?

i tryed pierce my ear with a safety pen i found behind the toilet 2 days ago.i mean i cleaned it with hotwater/scope mouthwash/ long story short i tryed 2 time but i couldnt get it through so i gave up
i cleaned my ear with dishwash soap/scope/and warm water and last night/today i put sum antibacterial gel on it. honestly it doesnt really hurt but i just dont want it to get infected and my ear to get a big hump in he front of it since it diddnt go all the way through. do you think i will get an infection

my symptons.
it doesnt really hurt unless i touch it and its a little red(the lobe) but besides that is okay and just kind of dry and flakly kind of.

i no it was really stupid to no that bu do u no what i can do to not get an infection?? thanks

I am a diabetic so therefore when I bruise, they don't go away for years at a time. If I cut myself while shaving my legs, or possibly get a papercut, it stays there for years (dark spots on my skin). I was wondering if anyone knew of a cream, a very good skin cream (dermatology tested) that removes dark spots over time?

Okay, I went to my family practitioner last Friday and she diagnosed me with a basic viral infection and had nothing to worry about (told me to take Motrin). I've been taking Motrin all weekend and just starting a few minutes ago I've had some weird things happening
- cough
- pains in left side when breathing
- chills

Before this started, I had a quick pain in my chest, right arm and then into my stomach all in about 30 seconds but that's gone! Professional opinions (EMT, LVN/RN, MD's) would be appreciated!

when in Emergency medical services can you really say you are real? is it after that first firstaid course? or after your first save a life expirience? when you get that first measley little pay check? or when your told to be happy you can serve... and your not getting a check...(forced volunteers) or when you answer your first real mci on your vol. pager? when you get your name in the paper? when you graduate EMT? when you come back to the ambulance bay covered in emmisis and excrament and blood? when are you really considered real?

3 nights ago I went to bed, I thought I felt something crawling on my foot but when I took the covers off I did not see anything. I went to bed and about 2 hours later I woke up to extreme itching on the outside of both of my feet.... there are two red bumps that have swollen up a bit and the scary thing is that the puncture wounds are in the exact same spot on both of my feet ... first, was this a spider and second, HOW DO I GET IT TO STOP ITCHING?!?!
