Okay, I went to my family practitioner last Friday and she diagnosed me with a basic viral infection and had nothing to worry about (told me to take Motrin). I've been taking Motrin all weekend and just starting a few minutes ago I've had some weird things happening
- cough
- pains in left side when breathing
- chills

Before this started, I had a quick pain in my chest, right arm and then into my stomach all in about 30 seconds but that's gone! Professional opinions (EMT, LVN/RN, MD's) would be appreciated!

I also forgot to mention I'm having some back pains now - those just started.

You could have a lung infection, or coming down with the cold, having the chills means there is a fever coming it is the bodies way of bringing the hot blood to the surface of the skin to cool it off. Go to the emergency room to make sure that there is nothing more happening such as pneumonia, or pleurisy. Good luck and feel better.

You could be having an allergic reaction to the Motrin or to something else for that matter so, like everyone else suggested, go and seek help from people who can and are trained to perform the necessary tests to rule out anything that could be hazardous to your health.

a viral syndrome can cause all of these symptoms. unless you are running a very high fever or have difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting, shortness of breath or other acute problems i wouldn't worry too much. rest, drink plenty of water (can't preach this enough) and wait it out. the virus might be causing a little bronchitis. not sure though. you back pain may be caused by dehydration and is now irritating your kidneys. i think it is all related.

is it possible you could have over dosed on the motrin? you really need to get to the ER if you even suspect you od'd...I used to work in the ER and it sounds like either an allergic reaction or over dose

I am none of those things you asked for, but I can tell you that you should be seeking help from actual people for something as immediate as this.

Don't wait.
