He doesn't feel any pain and can hear perfectly, and there is no bothering sensation. I've looked inside with a light as far as I can see and I see nothing. What would be the worst to happen? Can he get an infection? Any appropriate suggestions or knowledgeable answer would greatly help. Thank you.

i'd advise taking him to a doctor...he could definitely get an infection if it stays in there for too long

Just tell him to visit the doctor tommorow. I'm sure this problem can be taken care of in the doctors office. If not, he'll probalby be reffered to an ear, throat and nose specialist. Whatever the case, the procedure will not be anything to worry about. They will probably use something to suction it out. Good luck.

My brother-in-law did the same thing. We had some really long tweezers and carefully got it out.
Sometimes doctors flush ears and hearing improves a lot.
Eras are pretty much self-cleaning or motherless waifs and street urchins like Huck Finn and me would have grown up to be deaf!!

I'd pour some olive oil in the ear canal and see what floats to the surface. Don't, what ever you do, go digging around in there with another Q-tip.Throw the darn things out already.

Go to the ER, if it is so far in there you can't even see it then you shouldn't try to get it out yourself. While there ask them to show you how to clean your ears without them, Q tips are meant for superficial cleaning only, not all up in your ear!

Please do not listen to anyone who tells you to add a substance, liquid, etc and do not try to remove yourself. Most everyone has said to see a Dr. Don't take chances with your hearing. Internal infections like in an ear canal could cause other problems.

Tilt his head so the tip is towards the floor. Take a funnel and stick it in the good ear. Point a firehose in the funnel and turn on the water. Should be good as new in a few months

He needs to go to urgent care or ER and get this checked out. Remind him not to use q-tips in his ears as this can push the wax deeper in to the canal and cause problems or he could puncture his ear drum. Ear was is normal and helps keep dirt and debris out of the ear canal. As new wax is made it pushes the old wax out so you can wipe it away with a washcloth in the shower. Take him to urgent care now and get this taken care of though.

You should go to the ER or Urgent Care and try to have it removed. It could cause infection.
