Mine isn't typical. It's midspine, at the level of my mid-sternum. And, speaking of my sternum, if I slump for more than 30 seconds, there's increasing discomfort, to the point of being painful, and then when I straighten up, my sternum clicks and I have relief. So, I have to remain straight upright, and I believe this adds to the pain in my back. In a chair and in bed, I need to prop something at my mid-back or on my side to assist with the posture. I use a plastic bottle in my chair, and in bed I use 2 tennis balls in a sock. This helps some.

The osteopath pushed and pulled me. The MD saw nothing on an x-ray, and suggested motrin. Haven't tried a chiropractor, although I'm not opposed.

I'm just wondering if others have this. All my google searches turn up info on lower back pain, and upper back/shoulder pain, but I've never seen my symptoms. Anybody else have this? More importantly, did you get fixed?

Thanks!

after a road accident 5 years ago i immediately had severe pains in my neck and bottom of my head, i have had these pains for 5 years and many many visits to my GP and many prescriptions for painkillers i eventually was referred for an MRI, this shows a complete tear of my sternocleidomastoid muscle which runs from behind the ear to the breastbone area, as i was already diagnosed with ankylosing spondilitis 10 years before, my GP and the hospital consultants leaned towards this as the cause of my pain, now i am told it may be too long to be repairable, i am grateful for the hospitals help and treatment but not happy that this was missed as i can't turn my head to the side, i am only 37!!

I didn't even know until last week when my chiropractor showed me my x-ray that the right side of my pelvic bone is about 1/2 inch higher than left. So, when I stand straight my right shoulder is visibly higher.

For the 2 sessions all the chiropractor did was twisted my torso and "popped/cracked" my spine and neck. I don't see how it could adjust the pelvic bone. I had to stop seeing him because I am relocating.

Does any one know what he would do next to correct the pelvic bone? Thank you.

I've had lower back pain for some time now, I was seeing a chiropractor for a while and my primary care doctor told me to discontinue going. I had gone to my primary care for a check up after passing a kidney stone and while feeling my lower back I burst into tears in pain. He said it was my sciatic (nerve) and proscribed me some anti-inflammatory medication and to not do any high impact exercising for a while. This helped quite a bit.

Since then, the pain has been coming back slowly. It also made me aware that for some time now I had an annoying pop feeling in my front hip (the joint). It caused no pain, felt like a tendon was sliding over and past a bone. That has since disappeared and has been replaced by aching pain in the same spot and on occasion it feels out of place, with more of a sharp pain, and will eventually make an audible popping sound as it goes back into place.

What is this? How should I strengthen it? I am going back to my doctor after the holiday

He said that this was a steroid that will shrink my nerve in my lower back aleaving the pain getting caused by my disc hitting against my nerve. It's been a hour since it was givin to me through a needle I see little results 3 doctors already recommended surgury. But I heard so many people tell me once you go under the surgical knife espeacially in your back your never the same again. Which creeped me out and made me not wanna do it, I am in alot of pain as I type this though and this so called "MethylPREDNlsolone" isn't working ok so now I have a pack of this medication to be taken for 6 days orally Im supposed to take 2 tablets before breakfeast in a little while im not sure if im going to continue this medication if it's not going to work. My mother says if I get the back surgury for me to find someone to take care of me because she isn't going to do it im only 18 years old im to young for this what should I do the 2 disc that are herniated are the L4 and the L5. What should I do?

My husband and I drive 45 miles to work. He works across town. I have no vehicle, it's at work with him (he dropped me off this morning). I have no voice, an earache from heck, a sore throat and I am coughing things up. I have a chiropractor's appt. this afternoon that I probably shouldn't miss. (I normally speak with plenty of people on the phone every day, but I could use email.) What do you think I should do? It would be nice to get some rest and have a longer weekend, but I dont want to cut my husband's day short either. Should I schedule a doctor's appt.? They will probably just tell me to take hot showers to clear congestion and drink plenty of fluids. If anyone knows and remedies I can use here at work to make me a little more comfortable, I would appreciate them!

Hi,
I am a party photographer so i have to stand long durations as I have to move around the event to capture snaps. Lately I have been noticing that after some time into the event my lower back starts aching which if ignored turns into quite severe situation for me. Interestingly if I sit down on a chair with straight back the pain goes away gradualy. I dont take pain killer as I want to eliminate the problem at the root rather supress it. I have been taking care of my back well before this started by using back support with my office chair. Any help would be appreciated.

We dealt with a nurse "meanie". She had a very bad attitude with me and my family. My 5 year old son was going to get a shot and he became very upset. He screamed and cried very hard. The nurse lost it because she started to yell at my husband because he couldn't restrain my little boy. I asked her to stop and have another nurse to come and do the job, she just yelled on top of my son's screams, and said she knew her job and she wouldn't go and get another nurse. I got very angry and I just insisted but finally my son got the vaccine. I told the nurse I didn't appreciate the way she treated us, and she was arrogant and wouldn't care. Do you think I should file a complaint for being so rude to my son? Thanks

Recently I have had a sharp pain located on the left side of my head when I make a sudden movement, like stand up quickly. It only lasts a few seconds but it is very painful. This concerns me and I am wondering what this could be caused by. Is it from watching too much TV or looking at a computer for too long? Or what usually causes this reaction? What can be done to help this???

I do have a 'Dislocated L-2 Disc'.

Could that be why? I'm getting really tired waking up with a very Sore Left Hip.

Could it be a "Sciatic Never" problem?
