We dealt with a nurse "meanie". She had a very bad attitude with me and my family. My 5 year old son was going to get a shot and he became very upset. He screamed and cried very hard. The nurse lost it because she started to yell at my husband because he couldn't restrain my little boy. I asked her to stop and have another nurse to come and do the job, she just yelled on top of my son's screams, and said she knew her job and she wouldn't go and get another nurse. I got very angry and I just insisted but finally my son got the vaccine. I told the nurse I didn't appreciate the way she treated us, and she was arrogant and wouldn't care. Do you think I should file a complaint for being so rude to my son? Thanks

Yes file a complaint. You always have the choice of who is treating you and treating you fairly. Next time you go to the doctor you can request she not be part of your doctor/clinic visit, and the clinic has to oblige by your request. If she were doing her job she would have waited for your child to calm down and gotten someone else to step in to make things easier for you child. Some people think they know everything(not)

it is better that you make a complaint with the direct supervisor. You should have not let her give the shot and you should have made the complaint that same day. Her behavior was out of control. If you still have to take your child to that place to have further vaccinations done. Make sure you tell them when you arrive what happened and let them know you will not deal with that nurse again or you will be proceeding with a next level up complaint/

YES!
Most definitely, file a complaint against the nurse!
Usually things don't get done unless:
1. the manager sees/hears things like this
2. receives a complaint from a patient
When staff complains about a coworkers treatment towards patients, it's perceived as backstabbing for one reason or another until there is "outside" proof.
My opinion, the woman with a reaction like that, should not be working with children...she obviously did something to scare your boy...not to mention that she did not follow your request to get another nurse!

File a complaint with her superior.

specific! they'd not have jobs in the event that they did no longer artwork for us! i'd have marched out of that room as quickly as that crap began and insisted on seeing a supervisor. She would not have touched my son with that techniques-set!
