General Health Care - September 2007

How long should I let it go before calling the doc? It started while I was in the hospital and has gotten worse, it's been 6 days now, it radiates pain down my shoulders and chest.....had heart checked out that was ok though...

afghanistan maybe? this is a legitamit question, pertaining to the basic freedom for a person to do whatever it is they want (as long as it affects no one but themselves of course) more of a psychological thing I was wondering about, if people are allowed to do this anywhere in the world.

Sometimes two or three times. It's really annoying.

I don't drink after 5pm and try to get back to sleep when I wake up needing it, but I can't.

Any advice?

At school my friend told me there is a very light yellow in my left eye were the whit bit is,and my right eye is just whit (normal) the nexst morning i went to see if the yellow was still there and it was! what could it be im only 14 years old!

about 2 months ago i went to my first basketball game and i enjoyed it very much, i was screaming for the home team, etc etc
during the game my throat began to hurt and i was really hoarse and scratchy
its not like i had the greatest voice to begin with, but now everytime i sing it sounds sooo horrible. before, my voice flowed smoothly and now i sound like ashlee simpson when she had "acid reflux"
WHAT IS THIS??
how can i get my voice flowing again?

Having severe pains in side, below breast bone, in rib cage, pain on left side. Saw a doctor nothing done about pain, had pain on and off for over a year now and cannot take the pain any longer and want to get this resolved. Could it be a popped rib or worse? Who should I go see, ER or find a new doctor?

I got my back brace on August 9, 2007. About a month ago. I have to wear it 16 out of the 24 hours a day. I get 8 hours free of it everyday, which is a good thing. On August 20, 2007... I had to go my orthopedic and get an X-ray with the brace on to see if the brace is helping with the curve. I had a 30 degree curve on the top of my spine, and with the brace on... my curve decreased to 16 degrees! On the bottom of my spine, I had a curve of 21 degrees and it decreased to 2 degrees! I have to go back in about 2 1/2 months so they can take an X-ray of me WITHOUT the brace in to see if my spine is staying like this even without the brace on. I have to take it off 24 hours before the appointment so my back muscles can relax. I'm really nervous that my back will go back to the bad degrees for that appointment and I will need surgery! I get this brace off in about 2 years. Will I need surgery? I'm so scared. I DON'T want surgery! I am finding all the positives in the negative! HELP!

I have been experiencing severe heartburn for over 24 hours now, with no signs of letting up. Does anyone else have experience with this, and if so, what do you do? I have been to the ER before for this problem, but it has never lasted this long, and the ER can't seem to do anything about it. I have scheduled an upper GI scope, but it's a month away! Help!

Ok im only 17, a bit podgy, use the computer alot but also go up the gym, nothing strenious just tredmill work. Latly i been getting like small akeing pains all over the uper body, left and right side, 60% left 40% right. My mum thinks its cause i use the keyboard alot and she said she will take me to a masuse to get the kinks out. Is there anything anyone can tell me? Also a small sting type feeling, like a bee sting but alot alot weaker, just random, doesnt travel. Hits a few times then goes, help please

I had my hip replaced in July and I am worried that I might not be able to walk with out a limp and some pain that I have now.Any idea how long it takes since I need to go back to work and I walk all day 8 1/2 hrs or more.Has any one had the same problem of it taking a long to get back to walking good? Worried I might not walk good.

Tylenol can't touch it, it laughs in the face of Imitrex, and chews up Medrol (steroids) like candy and mocks me, a foolish mortal, for daring to come against it.

I'm on day 10 of the migraine, day 5 of the Medrol regimen, if anything worse then when it started. Ice packs, naps, dark rooms, silence, stillness, soft music, no music, warm, cool, showers, washclothes of any temperature, fan blowing on me, fan off, (typing with my eyes closed) - this is a steel-reinforced, diehard, sonofajackal migraine.

Had a similar one last year, but last year the Medrol got rid of it. Both times the migraine was precipitated with a convulsive episode (non-seizure, MRI & EEG show nothing) and came with the last two fingers on my left hand going to sleep - and staying that way. Last year's convulsion thingy was late June, this year's early September. Am not able to come up with a commonality between them that is not a consistent in my life..

yesterday night i was chewing my pencil and i swallowed a bit of the coil the silver thing around the rubber on the back of a pencil and my throat hurts i went to the docs and she said that it probz the coil as it went down it scratched it. i dunno why but it only hurts on the right side as well

Lately these last couple days, I've noticed once or twice throughout the day, that there will be a little muscle twitching. First it was my thumb the other day, and just now it was a muscle on my inner forearm. Lasted about 10..15 seconds. I do work fast food so I work my arms and hands alot so I figure its from overworking my arms/hands, but am I right?

does anyone know of a medication i can take for diabetic nerve pain that won't cause weight gain?i am now on 60mgs cymbalta and put on about 10lbs.i have been told it is a trade-off.hurt and no weight gain.don't hurt and gain weight.HELP!
