It sounds like kidney stones.God knows Ive had many of these and know the pain well. Usually it stars on the left side in the back and migrates around to the front and then the pain with the vomiting starts. I have seen may emergency rooms over these and they have some fantastic pain killers. You cant do anything for them by yourself but to wait for the stone to pass into the gallbladder and then the pain totally disappears as quick as it started. Some have lasted a few hours but the bigger ones have lasted a few days but have had only 1 surgically removed. This is comparable to women giving birth. If the pain persists head for the ER and get the pain killers, trust me its not worth playing the macho man bit. Ive now had so many over the past couple years that I dont even feelthem anymore except for the really huge ones and the Drs cant tellme why I have such a huge problem. Good luck

You sure it's your back and not your kidney? You may have kidney stones.
