My husband got a splinter in his finger 2 days ago and thought it was all out. Now his finger is swollen so there must be something left in there?

I got a cramp in my calf, and two in my foot while swimming. Is this because of dehydration, not enough magnesium, iron, laziness,....? Everyone says something different. I get cramps a lot usually when I wake and stretch or swim.

My husband gets terrible migraines about once every 2-3 weeks. He always has chronic vomiting with these episodes. He may vomit (or try to) at least 5 times or so. It usually lasts about a day. He will stay in a dark bedroom with the covers pulled over his head. I feel so bad for him. We have tried using 5HTP, CoQ10, Magnesium, Vitamin E. I don't know what to do for him. He is so miserable. Please Help if you can. Thanks.

I was hit by a speeding car when I was 14, now, almost 8 years on I am still feeling the effects. At the time, by back took quite a heavy knock, with muscles in my neck being heavily damaged, which the doctors told me could of caused my neck to be pulled more on one side than the other. Ever since, I have had severe pains all the way down my back, particularly just where my low back meets my pelvis, and my neck. I have been to chiropractors, tried electro-therepy to stimulate the muscles, and at the advice of one doctor even massage. None of this helps, and now I have an office job which involves sitting infront of a computer for 80% of the day, so my discomfort is made worse, however I do believe I sit with a good posture.
I refuse to take pain killers, and just want any advice on anything else that somebody could suggest... magic ideas? Fairy dust? Anything...

for the past 2 weeks or so i've felt completely exhausted and sluggish from the second i've woken up in the morning, and spend all day yawning my head off! finding it really hard to get the motivation to do anything active, just feel like sleeping all the time and it's really getting me down, would it be worth taking a couple of pro-plus a couple of times a day? are they addictive? i have tried changing the amount of hours i sleep ranging between 6 and 12, and nothing seems to help, im still waking up shattered... any ideas?

I've had a headache every minute of every day for just over 10 yrs. It never goes away, I wake up with it and go to bed with it. In this period I've had loads of scans, x-rays, lumbar puncture, blood tests, allergy tests, had wisdom teeth removed, had my sinus cleaned out, seen a dental specialist about my teeth possibly grinding and tried wearing a mouth guard at night, tried massage, accupuncture, accupressure, magnets, chinese herbs, saw a Chiropractor and a Osteopath. I have depression as a result and take 200mg of slow release Tramil twice a day for pain controll which barely does the job. I use to take Panadeine Forte but long term usage saw me taking up to 18 a day. It peaked in 2004 and I was suicidal & spent 2 weeks in hospital. The pain is at the back of the head and neck and all the experts in their various fields can see nothing wrong with me. I don't smoke or drink & tried going off anything with caffeine with no results. Can anyone offer anything new?

I sit next to this guy at work who is 25 years older than me, smokes, has asthma, is 50 IBS overweight. In fact, he is in such poor health he will be lucky to make it through the fiscal year. Yet we still pay the same amount each month for employer covered health care.

I think the reason that health care is so expensive is that the people making bad decisions (i.e. the fat guy that sits next to me) don't have have to pay for their bad decisions. Wouldn't universal healthcare just be this on a massive scale? Also, the really poor people get medicaid and don't pay their bills anyway, so what is the difference?

I noticed a little bit of pain in one of my lower eyelids today. Pain occurs when I close my eye. The eyelid( towards the outside corner) is aslo swollen and a bit red. seems to be getting worse as the day goes on. I now notice this pain or discomfort when I blink. Eye is not red and no tearing has occurd. I can't think of any injuries etc. that my have promoted this. Any ideas. Thanks!

I'm only 12 years old, so I don't think it's low BP. But if I stand up to quickly, or if I stay in a hot room too long, I get horrible headaches. At school, there really is nothing you can do about it. I never know when I'll get these headaches; they're very unpredictable. But I know that they hurt very badly. I also get dizzy. And it certainly doesn't help in gym class. I do get 9-10 hours of sleep, I swim, and I eat a good diet, so I don't what it is. Please help!
Thanks!!!

I looked up growing pains and it said that they were pains of the limbs, usually the legs, that happen during the evening or even at night to 3-5 and 8-12 year olds.

I am twelve years old. I have had growing pains in my foot over the past few years, and wear a size women's eleven. The other night I woke up at 3 in the morning with severe pain in my lower ribs. I found that streching helped, like the site said would help growing pains. It took about twenty minutes before I could get back to sleep.

Is this a rare case of growing pains, or something else?
