My 3 year old broke her leg a month ago...the doctor said she would be in the cast for 4 weeks since little kids heal really quickly, monday we went to get it off and it hadnt healed as well as he had hoped. her leg was in a cast all the way up to her thigh with her knee bent and her foot pointed downward. Now he recasted it to a short cast and it is under her knee and her foot is flat he wants her in it for another 2 weeks. What would cause it to not heal as fast as expected? I thought this was really weird since it wasnt a complete fracture and there were no complications. Any ideas?

My ears feel like they are stopped up, and I don't know if it is from taking Methodone. I have chronic pain that is why the Doc gave it to me. Also, my left knee (inside knee cap) has been hurtin with anything I do. This just started Sat. nite. I can't bend it too much or go up/down steps without sever pain. What could be the cause of this. I think I have some type of arthritis* because of all this pain. I am seeing a Long Term Pain Mangement Doctor for my right hip and had an injection this month (nerve blocker) in my lower back..grrr ..I am 45 and feel like I am falling to pieces.
Only serious answers please. I don't need any smart remarks from anyone. This is serious to me. Thank you, and GOD bless.

I have a small fracture (non-displaced) across the base of my pinky finger. The Dr said to wait 7 weeks(4 weeks splint, 3 weeks exercises) before playing hockey again. This seems a little extreme, and I'm guessing she has to give the worst case scenario. I've known lots of people who have played with these types of injuries after a few weeks. Is playing 3 weeks after this type of injury too soon? 4? Is there a good way to tell?

that he is taking hydrocodone? I told him they are in the same class of drugs but did not know if a drug test can tell the difference or if he will just test positive for opiates and n explain it away by showing the hydrocodone RX.

I have a mild case of it. Not sure what's causing it yet. My doctor said to try physical therapy before getting an MRI done.

Ok, so my husband had back surgery in january of 2006. He is 24, and had the surgery because he had herniated discs in his lower back due to jumping out of airplanes(inthearmy). Since then, it seems like its just gotten worse. Hes walking ith a cane, still has horrible back pain, and the physical therapy either wont work or its too much for him. I dont know if its just him being lazy, and using it as an excuse for sitting around(which he does, all the time) or if it is really bad as he says it is. whats a normal time line for a fusion surgery, how long does it take to recover and has anyone one else had this experience? I want him to feel good again..physically and about himself. Im worried that soon he'll let this completely take over his life. When i ask about trying phys. Ther. again he gets mad and says you dont know what its like. but i just want him to be better. anyone have any advice?

I have a friend who is a teen and her knee always cracks when she kneels or squats. I remember this has been happening since grade 8. Also, when she lies on her back and does the bicycle motion, her left knee has a clicking noise. What is wrong with her knees?

Obviously they are not time release so I know that it wont be stronger but maybe in helping it absorb. Crush them up and take a drink, will this maximise its effects (pain numbing not to get a high) or will it not make a difference since your body can only absorb so quickly.
