Obviously they are not time release so I know that it wont be stronger but maybe in helping it absorb. Crush them up and take a drink, will this maximise its effects (pain numbing not to get a high) or will it not make a difference since your body can only absorb so quickly.

Don't kid us - people only crush painkillers to get a buzz.

I don't think so, vicodin has a very fast action, so why do you want it faster???? No judging here, just curious. I won't suggest crushing, because of the bitter taste that it will have, and because the difference in absortion time will be very small. Remember vicodin acts in the opiaces receptors so it can and does cause addiction. My suggestion to you and other patients: take it the firt days AS NEEDED, maybe before bed to sleep and rest better, but do not take as the bottle says, because after all, YOU are the want who cares about yourself, and you don't want to end as a junkie. Hope it helps. Good luck!

People DON'T only crush painkillers to get a buzz, they also crush them if they have trouble swallowing pills. That's why pharmacies sell pill crushers. If you crush a Vicodin it will work slightly faster but not better.

it will increase the rate at which your body will absorb the drug because it increases the surface area.....you will get the drug into your system faster, and feel relief faster, but it will pretty much the same amount of relief as if you swallowed it whole, it will not make it stronger, the only way to do that is to take more

personally i think it would make it work "better" even tho it isnt a time released thing.... i think it would become easier for your body to absorb if it wasnt in a solid tablet form but that is just my take on things hope it helps

In my experience they seem to quick in SLIGHTLY quicker, but not enough to notice a whole lot of difference. That what I noticed when I took them after crushing my hand. But if you were to ask my husband, he almost swears by breaking pills in half when he takes his pain medicines for his fibromyalgia. he never really crushes them, just breaks in half and takes it.

I would be more concerned with the likelihood that you would be putting somewhere between 300 and 500 mg of Tylenol up your nose. That can't be pleasant.

I'm sure it will. Crushing any pill will make it work faster, but not necessarily longer or better. It will simply take your stomach less time to digest it.

no... there is so much acid in your stomach, that pill dissolves instantly when it reaches the stomach.

why would you want to crush the pills? are you thinking of snorting it? don't do it!
