OK. I just accidentally shot my right hand and I don't know what to do. I don't have any med. coverage, so I can't go to a doctor. It's just a small hole, so I doubt it's very serious, but it really hurts. What should I do???

I was talking to my cousins today and I was telling them about how I wanted to get a tatoo on my wrist and they said it's illegal to in the US because it's on your veins. I could probably get a friend to do it if it is but is it or not?

I've had this problem since I was a child. Lying on my left side causes a major pain in my left side, pain stops me from breathing deep; makes me unable to move. It eventually goes away, the longest it's ever lasted is about an hour.

When I was in college I went to the ER after a major episode and they told me it had nothing to do with heart...any ideas what it might be?

I get headaches almost every day. They usually start around the same time of day and the pain is behind one eye. It is the most excruciating pain that I have ever felt. Nothing seems to help much. Excedrin migraine helps a good deal though. I don't know if this is migraine or cluster? Can anyone help?

my 8 year old brother has had, since he was about 2 years old, pains in his feet during the night, it's not every night, somtimes every few days, sometimes, every few weeks, somtimes every few months. sometimes, they're also/or in his lower legs, somtimes they're in one leg/foot, sometimes both.
often they happen after a day when he's done alot of exercise, he will wake up in the night, or somtimes even before he goes to sleep and complain of pain, the only thing that sometimes helps is for someone to rub his feet. we've tried asking him what kind of pain it is, and whether it's jsut cramps, he says it's like a burning, but he can't explain or describe much else.
does anyone have any idea what is and have you ever heard of something similar??

I have an ingrown toenail that resulted in a cut in my big toe. It's been there about a month and won't heal because the part of the nail you can't remove is poking into it. As such, my entire toe is now swollen.

I noticed this morning that my foot and shin are of a significantly higher temperature than the noninfected side. There isn't much pain. I've put neosporin on the cut a few times, but it seems to do little. It doesn't seem to be getting worse very quickly, either.

So. I don't care much about being on the 'safe side'. I want to know at what point do I NEED to see a doctor? I have no insurance, so I'd like to avoid a pricey/violent visit. Should I just keep using peroxide and neosporin and hope for the best? I've been considering using a poultice of comfrey (knitbone), is this advisable for an open wound?

Thanks.

Is there anyone out there that can tell me where I have to go ( I live in Maine ) to find a pair of shoes that will accept MaineCare insurance? Since having my Left hip replaced my left leg is 1 inch longer and is realy killing my back. I had the hip surgey last June and I just had a discectomy at the end of January. The leg discrepancy is obviously not helping my back as far as healing goes. I am looking for a pair of slip on comfort type shoe with a 1 inch lift on the right shoe. I cant use anything on the inside bottom of my shoe as it is too tight if I put anything more than a 1/4" inside. I know it's common to have a leg discrepancy but everyone tells me it's usualy the replaced hip leg that is shorter (not longer). If i was to stand up straight on my right leg and then stand up staight on my left leg you can see me get alot toller. Does anyone know ifthe doctor that repaced the hip can prescribe a pair of shoes or not? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thank you for reading.

I had my cartilage pierced about 3 or 4 months ago...it as sore at first, but then it was fine.
Now, all of a sudden, it is swollen and if the slightest pressure is put on it it drips a greenish yellow discharge and then blood. The top lobe where it is pierced is swollen almost double in size than the nonpierced side. It hurts badly and is gross...I took the earring out and tried alcohol on it, all that did was burn ... it remains swollen, oozing and painful. Any ideas how to rid the infection?
