I am a nurse so I hope this helps you out....That is normal to have a different reading different areas of the body.
If she has a fever that high and is not allergic to Tylenol you can alternate every two hours with the Mortin and Tylenol. Say you gave her her Motrin at noon, you can give her Tylenol at 2pm and another dose of Motrin at 4pm and Tylenol again at 6pm. There are no interactions between the two and they are safe to take this way. The pedia Pops she can pretty much suck on all day if she is not eating food or drinking fluids. However, make sure that she drinks water and as much as you can get her to take. T
Alos, Pedia Pops are not a medicine, but they are to replenish nutrients in the body when you are sick and unabloe to eat. They provide the body with these nutrients as well as electolytes that help to balance out your or the babies system. They can help her stay hydrated and may even help the fever go down, but that is it. the cool baths and compresses will help too!
I would talk to her doctor and see what he/ she may have to say also. If she does get worse or the fever will not drop after the Tylenol and Motrin you may want to bring her in to see the doctor. She can get dehydrated very easily with a fever that high. Hope this helps and she feels better soon!

Yes you raise it by a degree. Remember though you have to leave the thermometer in the armpit for a full 10 minutes and that this is the LEAST accurate way to take a temperature. Do not give her meds to lower her temp unless she is uncomfortable as this is the bodies way of fighting whatever is going on.
This is not rubbish and is a medical fact that unless the temp is 103 or higher you should not try to bring the fever down as this is your bodies way of fighting off what is causing the fever. This is a medical fact and comes from someone who has been a nurse for over 33 years. Sorry you don't belive that it is true but you can research it on the web if you want.

Add 1 degree for under the arm subtract 1 degree for rectal.
Either way, you don't have to treat the a fever of 100-101, it's your body's defense against whatever bug she has. If the fever is making child miserable, treat the fever to make her feel better. Either way, keep her drinking fluids!!

Some pediatricians say yes, some say no. Mine says yes. Give her Tylenol (dose her according to her weight on the bottle) or Motrin. Thats not that bad of a fever really, you should be able to bring it down with medication. You can alternate Tylenol and Motrin spaced apart as directed on the bottles. That is effective. Also, if it is a persistant fever or it starts to climb higher after dosing her, take her in to the Dr.

I believe you are supposed to raise it a degree. I hope your little girl is ok. Give her lots of cuddles and good luck.

Yes, to compare it to an oral temperature, you would need to raise it by a degree. Normal underarm or "axillary" temperature is 97.6F
