its not uncommon for me to sleep for long periods like 10 hours..are there any dangers of over sleeping?

Oh man, I'd love to sleep 10hrs a day! This morning my kids woke me up at 5am :( If I get 6 hrs I'm really lucky. You must not have kids yet!

I'm not sure medically if there is something wrong with it, but I too require a lot of sleep. If I don't get at least 9 or 10 hours I feel exhausted all day. I have heard of some study that shows the less you sleep, the longer you live...but I don't know if there's any truth to that. I say, if you're tired sleep. As long as the sleep isn't affecting your daily life, what harm could it do?

You may be one of those people that needs more sleep, so 10 hours may be normal for you. Do you feel well rested once you get up? Do you have problems with afternoon sleepiness? The only danger of over sleeping is drowsiness or headaches. I know if I stay in bed too long, I drag through my day and usually have a minor headache all day.

10 hours is an very healthy period of sleeping time. people btwwe ages 8-12 should get at least 10 hours sleep a day. i f you maintain this , your brain will develop better. oversleeping will not harm you

hi Its ok if u sleep for 10 hours for time being. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it will be between 7.5 hrs and eight.5 hrs. DOnt make that a habbit.... Will reason u a large hardship later whilst U connect some artwork, U wont get adjusted to that enviornament.

no there r no dangers but . u shouldn't sleep more than 8 hours if ur age is between 14 - 30.& if its more than this then u should sleep more less!

I think this is VERY healthy, and there shouldn't be any problems. You're lucky to get that many hours of sleep every night.

Oversleeping makes you even more tired throughout the day, so the experts say. 8 hours should be plenty.

your body and mind must need it or you would not require that much sleep...no dangers of oversleeping that i know of and i am a grandma
