So when you reach 38.5 you are officially middle aged.

Anyone out there who is 38.5?

I'm having horrible chest pains on my right side. It woke me up every 30 minutes last night. I can't stand up straight, bend over, or do any strenuous activities. I've had a horrible cough for about a week now. I don't know if that might've caused it or what. Do I need to call a doctor?

I had wrist surgery 2-1. I had torn liaments in my wrist. They took tendons out of my leg and drilled holes in my ulna and radius and tightened everything like a shoelace. Yesterday they took off the cast and put me in a splint. My arm is absolutley killing me. I feel sharp pain in my arm and hand, like there's glass in there shredding me. I am allowed to take off the splint to shower. I am in so much pain from any movement, I cannot even imagine trying to do anything with this splint off. It is excuciating to supinate and pronate. Is this temporarary from having a little extra movement? I blubbered like a baby all day yesterday. It took 2 percocets, 800 mg ibuprophen and a muscle relaxer to get the pain under cotrol. I am so sick of pain and pills, please help me!

I have had 2 back surgerys, discsectomy and spinal fushion, I still have severe low back pain, and the pain goes down my leg often. i have suffered with this for over 8 long years now. I see my doctor, and he gives me vicodin ES, and soma. but these medications no longer work for me. I have never abused my medications, however, I am reluctant to tell my doctor, because doctors often think you just want stronger medication. ive been to pain clinics, and have had epiderals, and have been to physical therapy, all have had no effect on my pain whatsoever. in fact, they made it worse for me. I am totally at my wits end, on what to do next. My doctor tells me I will be in pain for the rest of my life. So is there anybody out there that could advise me on what my next course sould be? I dont mind being on medication, and I dont want any further surgery on my back. (not yet, becides, theres no guarentee of that doing anything) I cant seem to find any relief, and I need help.thanks

When I yawn I have to stop half way through it because it is too soar. I also suffer from a clicking noise when I am eating or even kissing!! The clicking tends to come from my right side though it hurts on my left side. It also hurts when I move my jaw from side to side.

I am 18 wks pregnant, but since almost the beginning of my pregnancy I have been getting achey pains in my right side, in my ribs. It has been getting steadily worse over the last 4 months. Now it moves back and forth from the front to my back. Have been to the hospital and they couldn't find gallstones,(which they thought it was). Seems to last a few days then I have a few days of relief. Doesn't matter if I eat healthily/junk food. But I do seem to feel really bloated when this occurs.

I sure hope so cuz my quality of life will greatly improve, I mean, it isn't fair to my kids that daddy is always in pain so he can't play with them and then my wife has to do all the things I'm sposed to do but I can't cuz Im in so much pain and then I can't sleep at night so I keep everyone up cuz I'm in so much pain. See then my kids don't get to sleep so they 're tired in the mornign and cranky, then we all fight and don't get along..then I'll be like walking outside and my whole side goes numb and I literally fall down, I think I have sciatica or something like that, so you see, I really need to be prescribed oxy's. What? Vicodin? Oh, ummm..no way, it makes my tummy hurt, I can only take oxy's. Oh, you want me to try therapy? No, see..I can't..I don't have time to do that cuz I have to work... oh, they're open at night? Oh..nope, therapy won't work so I'll just take the oxy's and everything will be good. No, can't take ibuprofen, only oxy's work for me..What? My oxy's are ready?

What's the best way to get rid of the pain? I'm not just sore because I go to the gym often and the pain in my shoulder/neck is a different type of pain. It's constant and very annoying, what should I do?

i have shoulder tendonitis and i take 3 advil a day before baseball practice so i can play through the pain everyday. Today i woke up and my stomach is hurting. I think its cuz of advil, but 3 a day is less than the advised amount. I'm wondering if this is just temporary and if taking 3 advil a day is too much. Ive been doing that for aobut a month.

Hurts my hips when i lie on my side, also hurts my buttock bones when I sit down on a hard surface. Lower pack pain is sharp and sometimes even get tingling in my upper back and arms. Have had an MRI on back and doctor said my spine is fine and he gave me some exercises to do but this just aggravated the pain. What could be causing this? Have had the symptoms for over a year now!

It's ridiculous that such a powerful narcotic is prescribed for everyday aches and pains. I can understand for terminal cancer or the such, but people are getting it for arthritis, bladder pain, and a host of other everyday pains that generations of people have dealt with, without having to use what is basically a nice, clean, legal heroin! I've heard EVERY excuse in the book as to why "I NEED it" and how "my quality of life is so much better with it"...etc.,etc.,etc., Well of COURSE life is better...you're HIGH all the damn time! It's like giving yourself an orgasm in pill form every couple of hours!!
Seriously, now...I would estimate that I've personally met or dealt with 100 people, a very conservative number I might add, who are prescribed either Oxycontin or just plain oxycodone, and out of those 100 not ONE...NOT ONE!..of them takes their meds AS PRESCRIBED, every month. Every single one of them sells or at least trades, their pills every month. It's like a sub culture!!

It's been a while since I stopped smoking socially, but I took two cigs a while ago. Right after I went through my second stick, I felt so nauseous and started sweating profusely. My head still hurts very much right now and I think I'm going to throw up or pass out at any minute. Why is this? How do I stop it? Please give me useful answers because I have to get over this as soon as possible and go back to working on my papers.

Ok, I'm having dull pains in the left side of my abdomen. I haven't had really regular bowel movements the past week. So I thought it was constipation. Last night, I had a pretty good bought of diarreha. Tonight, I am still having pain in my left side. I also sometimes hear gurgle sounds from the area. Any ideas?
