Based on the current UK average life expectancy.

So when you reach 38.5 you are officially middle aged.

Anyone out there who is 38.5?

Oh my god. That's me i am 39 in July. Thanks for cheering me up. My son told me that they learnt in class that the average age of death world wide is 76, so he said i was really half dead

Flawed - The average life expectancy is based on when a person was born. Someone born today has a life expectancy of over 100!

Averages mean nothing in this context as they include all the babies that die within seconds of being born.

Actuarial computations actually show that the older you become from fifty, the older you are likely to live. A few slight variations but largely true. i.e. if you have not died by 65 you have a greatly increased chance of living past 75 and if you have not died by then you are well placed to live past 85!

Its not too bad if you are a woman, the average life expectancy for men is about 72 in Britain and 80 for women ( the weaker sex). Go girls!!!

For all you 'sprogs' out there. Yes, I went through this stage 23.9 years ago. But, believe me, life gets better - and easier!
