I have r dry, flaky skin on my nose and forehead, but i also have blackheads there too.Dont blackheads usualy come from oily skin? I drink plenty of water, exercise, eat a healthy diet, and have a regular wash routine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what should i do to get rid of the blackheads as well as the dry skin?

I can't imagine putting lotion on my lips, but these folks were swearing by it. Do you do it? Does it actually work better than lip balms?

Hi, I was on steroids and they totally messed with my hormones and even gave me mild acne (I've never had acne before). Anyway, I had a tiny bump on the side of my nose, and I "popped" it -- and a little thin strand of white pus came out, like a worm. Sorry, gross, I know! Anyway, the next day it was a little bigger (maybe just swollen?), and it hurt REALLY bad when I touched it, so I tried squeezing it again but this time nothing came out. Needless to say, it's bigger now (the 3rd day), and extremely sore. You can't see it, but when I press on the skin it feels hard. Could that just be swelling from squeezing it too much or is it definitely a cyst/nodule? What should I do for it? Do you think it'll get worse? Also, the bump doesn't feel round, it's kind of oblong (i.e. where my fingers were squeezing it). Thanks so much!

If so, what is it that you have been doing to contol your "outbreaks"? I have been using an acne cleanser that contains salicylic acid that seems to help, but it is harsh on my skin in my affected areas. Just wondering what other HS suffers do.

she's had shingles before so she was thinking that might be it. first she had a couple bumps around her eye and now they're every where. she said they're bumps with white heads but they're not zits. could it be a rash?

When I take a shower I get red marks in small areas on my face and neck and within 3-5 minutes they go away. I am not really worried about this but other people have seen this and they think it is terrible that I have some disease/abnormality. That I should go to a Dr. and get all kinds of tests. I think it is just a reaction to the different types of water! like hard/soft water. It happens to other family matters and it goes away, should I be nervous or just let it go? I hate Dr's so I don't really want to go!

My grandmother was bitten on the right breast by a brown recluse spider. She is diabetic and close to needing dialisyis (spelling help), anyway, For two days she slept. She went to the doctor and he gave her an antibotic and told her to drain the area. I am very very concerned, and wonder if this is normal for treatment from the start. He did say it was a brown recluse bite ( she was cleaning under a sink). Should we get a second opinion? He would not admit her to a hospital. The diabetes issue is bothering me a great deal. HELP?

The wounds are a little deep and this morning they were little swollen. What kind of doctors should I see to take care of such things. Or is there any non-prescription drugs to use?

Please, nothing overly simple like apply lotions, use hair conditioner, etc. I mean if you have something really unique and specific that works for you involving lotions, bring it. But make sure its cool and not boring if you want my 10 pts. I'll also take answers like ... drrive south to a warm beach. Cause I'm desperate. Im like dry friggin kindle... help!
