When I take a shower I get red marks in small areas on my face and neck and within 3-5 minutes they go away. I am not really worried about this but other people have seen this and they think it is terrible that I have some disease/abnormality. That I should go to a Dr. and get all kinds of tests. I think it is just a reaction to the different types of water! like hard/soft water. It happens to other family matters and it goes away, should I be nervous or just let it go? I hate Dr's so I don't really want to go!

1. does this occur if you use only water? no shampoo/soap/etc?
2. if it occurs using only water, try lowering the water temp a bit. it sounds like a heat reaction.
3. does it occur if you use distilled water (i know this is not realistic for bathing/showering, but it would help determine if it were something in the water or if it were the temp)
4. unlikely, but does it occur if you bathe instead of shower? if not, posture/positioning may be a factor.
5. if it goes away, has no remaining/lasting marks, is not painful or uncomfortable, and only seems cosemetic, my inclination would be to not worry about it.

Maybe you are just using too hot a Water on your face, Try lowering the heat temp when you shower, also use a gentle soap on your face such as Dove. It also Moisturizes it..
