Skin Conditions - December 2006

I take hot showers. I'm using Dove Sensitive skin body wash (fragance-free, and hypo-allergenic) and I exfoliate with a puff (I rotate between 3). Afterwards I moisturize with baby oil, and or Jergens body lotion for extra dry skin. Sometimes I use extra virgin olive oil with sugar as a body scrub (exfoliation purposes). I exfoliate with every shower because of my keratosis pilaris.

What can be causing me to itch so severly? Could it possibly be my towels? I use them 2-3 times before I wash them, and in between showers I hang them over the curtain rod.

My little girl had a big raised birthmark on her bottom. She must of nicked it and seeing as it was inside her nappy it became infected. She had lazer treatment to get rid of the infection but now it is all white and puffy. She is nearly 3 and I was wondering what it might look like when she is older. I know she wouldn't want a huge mark on her bum when she gets older, will it fade?

I have a pimple on my chin. I have been using AcneFree but it won't go away and has been there for a few months now. It's gotten to the point now where I can pop it and it gets even bigger, redder, and uglier and I can't figure out why it won't go away when the rest of my face stays clear! Someone help!

I have had major dryness and a feeling of tighness of the skin lining each nostril for the past couple of weeks, accompanied with scabbing in differents parts inside, as well as bleeding from these "scabby" areas. (They do need to be removed from time to time, as they get too big and block the airway. Removing them makes them bleed.) I've tried nasal moisturizing spray (from the makers of ZICAM) and AYR nasal moisturizing gel with aloe (but that gel only burns). Is there anything else I can do to clear this up? The dry, tight skin inside each notril actually hurts!

the problem is still there because the surgery was not 100% guaranteed. The area is still num and he keeps telling me this will go away, it has been 6mos. since the surgery. My self esteem has went way down since the keloids.

I heard a non-chemical treatment works its that you put mayonaise on every inch of your head (and hair) and it smothers the lice and you have to have on your head for and hour wrapped in plastic. And you would have greasy hair for 2-3 days if you washed it everyday. Does it work??

my head is always itching, I thought I had dandruff because a lice expert said I didn' have it, but then I found 3 black bugs in my hair! I used the best dandruff shampoo and it still itches really badly. What are these bugs I found? And what does it mean?

Some time ago I noticed a small, flat, round and pinkish mark on my leg that looked like an ingrown hair, or a really angry pimple. It has been over a few months, and there is no change in it. Does anyone else have a problem like this? I don't think it to be more than a nuisance, and dislike it solely because of aesthetics, as it does not hurt in any way. I am open to suggestions on what to do with it, because so far, every time I've went to the doctor's, I keep forgetting to mention it.

Benadryl helps with itching, but bumps are stull there. She has dry skin and we have been using cetaphly lotion. She mistakenly rubbed bodywash in thinking it was lotion the night before last, last night after she put lotion on her skin was red and the bumps were flesh colored, a little while later, skin around bumps was red. I don't know if I need to take her to doctor or not. Someone said it looked like 5ths disease, but from the research I've done, it doesn't add up. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

I have had eczema my entire life and I still don't know exactly what it is. Also: fot those of you who have eczema, I was wondering if you could tell me any ways of treating it. Yes, I have creams, I am looking for somthing different, or a specific kind of cream that has worked for you. I'm asking b/c it's winter, and at this time of the year my eczema goes crazy!! My girlfriend mother has lice in her head and it keeps coming back and recently had a boil or sore in head and went to the emergency room for treatment. They did not know she had lice nor did they discover it durnig treatment when boil was lance. Where could these lice be coming from and how can my friend get rid of them.
