my head is always itching, I thought I had dandruff because a lice expert said I didn' have it, but then I found 3 black bugs in my hair! I used the best dandruff shampoo and it still itches really badly. What are these bugs I found? And what does it mean?

ok. I found a black bug on my pajamas and my head started itching. It didn't look anything like lice though because I am a teacher of 15 years and lice does not look like this. When I squashed this before it could bounce away in the shower it left a black smear but first purple. It was like small dark black dots fell out of my hair. It keeps happening. I go to the doctor and they say they don't see anything. They even asked me if I had a job. I think because I had my jama's on and hadn't slept because of these bugs. I am so upset!
I bagged all of my clothes. Shampooed carpets. I am wearing Vaseline and a bag on my head to smother whatever it is. I am afraid to go to the doctor again because the doctor said there is no such bug. I think it could be a small bed bug. I heard before they get big they can be this way but then I also read that they look like a tick. I did find something in my room by nightstand that looked like a tick so I bagged it and put in the freezer.

It is so hard because I want to do the right treatment but when doctors act like your nuts how can you. My hair feels crispy and some even falls out with the black lil dot like bugs. I don't know what it is. It feels like they jump not crawl. I think I may have gotten it at the vet because my cat had ear mites then I got this big white chunk of rubber like thing the doctor had to flush out of my ear and the vet said that could have been ear mites sac. Then now I have ear mites but they really bounce around allow over on you. All I know IS I GOT REAL CLOSE TO ONE OF THESE SUCKERS -AS IT WAS GOING TO JUMP-IT WAS BLACK W SILVER-WTF- IS THAT???? HELP! Oh and I found a dry light yellow hard wax on my bed frame in a mound. I scraped it off and sanitized bed frame. was that thie nest?

Adult lice are dark in color. Check your hair strands and see if there any tiny white eggs stuck to them. I went thru that mess with the school kids. If You find it is lice then you need to wash all of your bedding with RID in the washer. And I would set off a bug bomb in your room too, just in case any eggs are around to hatch later and start the whole thing over again.

Here is a site with pictures.

Pictures of Head Lice

Pictures include head lice at multiple stages of the life cycle. The life cycle of head lice lasts about 30-35 days from egg (or nit ) to adult. The female louse can lay as many as 10 eggs per day. The incubation of the egg usually lasts between 8 to 10 days. After the nit hatches, the second stage of the life cycle, or the nymph stage, also takes about 8-10 days. The nymph typically molts 3 times before reaching its adult form.

Usually when lice are fully engorged, they turn dark. They are generally white until they have eaten. If they are coming off your hair easily, they chances are they are mature enough to lay eggs, or "nits" and are on the move. Have someone look at your scalp thoroughly, and look for bite marks. Also look for "nits" the little egg sacs at the base of your hair roots. This hairs will be most evident at the site where your head itches. Regular shampoos will not remove the "nits". And lice are well adapted to move freely through your hair.

Sounds like it is lice.Try treating your hair with a lice treatment. If that doesn't work seek a doctor you could have some sort of fungus from a bug.I saw on TV this lady had worms in her head buried in the scalp.Sometimes hair products will cause the scalp to itch.

I do believe this may be bed bugs...it seems that they are really not the same bug they were in the past. I know someone who had them in their hair. If you go over to your sink and scratch your head & things fall out that are either blackish or redish. And you are itching too. Look for pimple like bites. Bed Bugs are on the run and they are hard to get rid of. They leave little crumbs in your bed too. Look it up... you are not alone!!

Lice are white. I don't know what this stuff is. Could be bed bugs. Ask your doctor.
