I do not know if we are just satisfying our selfish need to prolong the inevitable or if there is some hope of rehabilitation. my mother is my world...i have accepted that we need to release her in the name of GOD. But if there is any hope that we may have some time left I do not want to be so hasty with my decisions. the doctors are asking for answers now but i am all out of resources. help! how much more should we put her through. she is 62yrs old and has high anxiety and end stage COPD...is it time to say enough is enough? What options do we have? What are the pros and cons? What are some long term care vent units in the midwestern united states?

I have thought for the last two days that I've had a bad cold. I've had a slight (very slight) fever and I've been feeling all around achy and just yuck. I was reading about sinusitis, and all of my symptoms seem to fit acute sinusitis. I just don't have much pressure around my eyes or cheekbones. I have a mildly bad sore throat and my throat seemed to be a little swollen yesterday but the swelling has gone down. I just woke up from a deep sleep because I could feel blockage in my sinus cavities. This may sound disgusting, but I sort of sucked the mucous from my nose/sinus cavity to spit it out. I don't know the exact term for this action but I'm sure you know what I'm saying. Anyway, a HUGE bloody/green booger came out when I did it, almost like a solid. I feel SO much better now, I feel so relieved and my nose instantly stopped running. Do you think this is what was causing me to be sick since it was blocking? Is this pretty normal? Sound like sinusitis?

My grandma is 85 years old. She has a slight heart problem and she is saying she cannot breath very well. Is there any type of an inhaler we can get for her that doesn't require a prescription? She is taking tylenol, folic acid and iron.

Can you live a pretty norml life? When I take my thyroid it rebs my body up that I am nervous and can't sleep even on a low dose I know the difference. I have fought with taking Synthroid for years & years and they have never been able to regulate it. My thyroid is low so I have to take thyroid. Yes, I am tired and achey when I don't take anything but I feel better that way than rived up to where I can't sleep and my eyeballs and nerves are on edge. My Mom had the same problem and she just finally refused to treat it. HELP!

...runny nose, irritated throat, and some throat and chest congestion. Tonight, I continue to have the runny nose, headache, cough and am coughing up mucus. Any idea what this could be and why/how it came on so suddenly? It really hit me out of nowhere today and made me feel awful so fast.

Okay so since the beginning of winter I've been coughing really heavily occasionally I'd cough up small amounts of blood. My cheeks also seem redder than normal this year. Could I have TB?

My dad went for his annual check up and a "shadow" was found in his chest xray, which showed nothing last year. He had been a smoker for 40 year and just quitted about 3 years ago. Is there any possiblities other than the obvious one? I am really worried. Thanks a lot
