Saline nose drops- non mediacted- never blow your nose- instead wash face with hot water thrown on your face repeatedly and let nose run. Eat "hot" foods . Drink hot teas. Boil pasta and lean over pan as it cooks. Go for a slow walk- keep active don't lie around. But get plenty of rest and eat fresh fruits and vegetables.

Try to use a dehumidifier. You can purchase one at any pharmacy. You should use it at night all night long. If you want to, you could use a shower soother in it, it had the same ingredients as Viks Vapor Rub. But it is in a solid form. I have used it quite a few times and had great results. I wouldn't try to take any more medacine except for during the day like a non drowsy tylenol decongestnant. Or if you can't sleep really well then take a tylenol pm decongestant. You should be feeling better in a coulpe of days.

If you want to get over it and don't want it to turn into pneumonia, I would take the decongestants. Here is a good combination of medications you can take. You can get each one individually or you can find one medication with all of them in it.

Pseudoephedrine
Guaifenesin
Loratidene or Diphenhydramine (Diphenhydramine may make you sleepy)
