So even if a person never has another drink they will always be an alcoholic? I don't get it. How can a person be cured and still have the disease for the rest of their lives? I never hear people say once depressed always depressed or once with the flu always with the flu.

I have a bad chest cold that has caused my voice to become weak and hoarse. Unfortuantely as a teacher, I am forced to talk all day and often raise my voice at my second graders. Is it okay to do this or will it cause permanent damage overtime?

When I was younger, my head would twitch to one side, and my shoulders would shake for no reason often. When I turned 17, I started getting a vocal tic that sounds exactly like a certain animal. It has happened every day for over three years (it's still happening). I can often feel when the vocal tic is going to happen, almost like a sneeze or a cough feels, but sometimes it just happens suddenly. I want to go to a doctor or something to see what it is, but my parents refuse to let me do that for some reason. Does anyone think that this is Tourette's, or is it something else?

I noticed a bit of a raised, what feels like fluid, bit on the bottom of my belly button. What is it. I also feel like i have put more weight on around the middle over the past couple of months and it isnt going despite doing a fair amount of exercise a week. (I play rugby, train 2x a week and play on the weekend). I have also noticed that the asthma i thought i had grown out of as a kid has come back slightly. It isnt bad but a slight wheeze sometimes. What on earth could be wrong with me???

I think it's Crohn's Disease personally. Nothing showed up on X'Ray's or the Ultra-Sound. I'm seeing my doc on Wednesday about what's going on but I'm not sure what I have and I want to get some opinions on this. Please help, I don't want to have surgery. O.o

Why is it nothing in the drug store has "cure" written on it? Has anyone noticed this? Every product has "relief" written on it, and they barely work! Why is it that you can eat 100 oranges to help cure a cold and not die or you can take 100 cold and sinus drugs (which are SUPPOSE to help you) and you would die? Do you see what I'm saying?

This synthetic medicine can kill you if you take to much, but nothing organic will ever kill you if you take a lot of it.

For instance, when I was 15, I had a tumour in my left testicle which wasn't cancer. But the only way to see if it WAS cancer, was to cut my testicle out. The tumour was gone after that, but so was my testicle! Thousands of years of studying medicine, and this is what we've come to?

It seems that the people who make medicine are not concerned with curing illness of any kind. If they do that, theyll lose money, since their "relief" drugs arent useful anymore. Does anyone feel this way? Please share.

I am in relatively good health, but I'm OLD and skeptical about elective surgery to prevent a possible future illness. How would you advise your Grandmother?

my husbands uncle just found out that he has a hedritary blood disorder, that favors the boys and I guess its involving the prothrombin. his blood clots abnormally. he had a clot go thru his lungs and heart and survived. he has clots sitting somewhere, i cant remember, but its pretty serious. and the strange thing is, his kids, my husband, my husbands sister, my mother in law, a cousin, all have the same symptom-severe migraines...could this be a link? and if it is more receptive to the male side, then I should get my son checked out for this. he is only 13 months old right now. Wouldnt they have seen it when they did the blood tests when he was born? Any way, what is this disorder called and what is the prognosis (hope i used that p word right...haha)

For several months I have had loose bowel movements, loose bowel movement with an oily substance, dark green firm movements and nausea has accompanied this along with weight loss and fatigue. I am unemployed and do not have insurance. I am a bit worried since it has not gone away and I am 40 yrs old. Could it be cancer or liver disease?

My mom has vericose veins on her legs and about a month ago, one became very swollen and soar. She went to the Dr. and they did an ultrasound. No clotting. So he started giving her injections to break down the vericose veins but one of the veins became red and painful. She went back to him to let him know and he said that it's now a clot. He told her to take a blood thinner (bayer aspirin) and gave her an appt. to come back in two weeks. Now she has another swollen bump on the other leg. She is going back Thursday but I wonder if the Dr. is treating this seriously enough.

My mom is 50 years old heavy chain-smoking woman for years. She is on her 3 packs a day habit with no intense to quit or cut it down. She is smoking for about 25 years, and she is always with a ciggie in her mouth smoking like a chimney and every day she smokes more and more. She also likes to smoke two cigs at once saying that she really needs to smoke more to feel good. In a recent years she started to smoke cigars on a daily purpose, she is really deeply inhaling them and says that she likes big smoke that fills her inside. She has a female friends about her age, who also smokes a lot and when they come to our house it is smoke everywhere i'm almost out of breath.
And my mom changed a lot. She looks older than she is, she got wrinkles on her face too early, she has a yellow tar stained teeth and very bad breath, she is always coughing a lot and constantly out of breath, sometimes i noticed that she is feeling dizzy, but she says she is ok and that she needs to smoke. Is it problem?

what side r ur appendix on? and what are the symptoms of appendixcydous?

2007-10-08 14:40:24 · 3 answers · asked by Anonymous

Okay. I have a few symptoms, and Im freaking out because I keep thinking that I have this. Im going to the doctor soon, but I have read lots of places that it is a long process to figure out if you have it or not, so I am just going to ask this now.

Here are my symptoms:

1. I feel shaky a lot. Like, when I am sitting down or something, I feel like a shake is going through my body. Sometimes I feel like I am shaking when I move my arms, walk, bend over, or do sit-ups. Also, usually if i rest my arm on the table with my wrist up, it will shake.

2. When I walk, I feel unsteady, like, I can walk in a straight line, but sometimes I just kind of go off to the side a bit.

3. Sometimes I feel dizzy too.

If you know anything, or have any info (other than WebMD), please share. Im 16, so naturally Im freaking out.

I had what I would consider "mild pain" or an "uncomfortable" feeling in my private area until I urinated this morning. I noticed something dark come out, so I fished it out of the toilet (with the brush) and closely examined it. It looks exactly like photos of a kidney stone seen in Yahoo Image Search.

Could it be possible I had a stone and didn't know it?

What else could it be?

I can't really afford a doctor, so please don't respond with "See a doctor moron!"

I've been trying to look this up forever online but I CAN'T find it anywhere: I'm looking for some place that says what is considered mild/moderate/severe epilepsy based on the number and frequency of seizures. I have found nothing to the sort and it's kind of annoying me. Can anyone provide me with a link and/or the information itself (as long as you give a source for the info)?

In case you're confused, I'm looking for something like: 2-3 seizures per year is considered _____ ...
