It's very possible that you passed a kidney stone. Unfortunately, if you've passed one, you'll probably pass more, and they probably won't be as painless. Here's some good info on WebMD:

Yes. A friend of mine at work has had several bouts with kidney stones. He has passed what he calls gravel with mild discomfort. It's the biggies that make him pass out with the pain. Last time he had a procedure called Lipotrippy ( I spelled it the way it sounds). It's a machine that uses sound waves to break up the bigger stones, so they're easier to pass and much less pain involved. He's so used to having stones that he can tell early on he's about to have an attack and rushes to his doctor for that procedure. He says it's not painful, but aggravating as all get out. Says it feels like someone tapping you in the same place over and over and over.
You were lucky this time. Still, sometime in the near future you'll have to go to the doctor. Passing this stone does not mean that's the only one you have.
Best of luck to you. May you never have another!

RE:
Is it possible to pass a kidney stone with only mild pain?
I had what I would consider "mild pain" or an "uncomfortable" feeling in my private area until I urinated this morning. I noticed something dark come out, so I fished it out of the toilet (with the brush) and closely examined it. It looks exactly like photos of a kidney stone...

Yes. A friend of mine at work has had several bouts with kidney stones. He has passed what he calls gravel with mild discomfort. It's the biggies that make him pass out with the pain.He couldn’t afford the expensive surgeries and procedures to get rid of the kidney stones. So he looked online for a natural alternative and he found this safe and natural remedy ( http://best-remedy-for-kidney-stones.blogspot.com/ ) . He was able to pass his kidney stones in a very short time.

It is possible. They are very very small (embarrassingly so considering the pain they cause) and look like a grain of sand or an itty bitty meteor. If you are no longer in pain and the urination has gone back to normal levels then there is a decent chance that was the stone. The most important thing is if the other symptoms have stopped.

take a lot of painkillers. most of the pain will depend on the size of the kidney stone. obviously larger hurting worse. passing this can be extremely painful and you may want to reconsider the idea of seeing a doctor. i've heard they hurt more than pregnancy....

Yes, you could pass it with little pain if it was small enough. The pain comes from stretching the urinary tract or if it was sharp and scratchy.
Sounds like you got lucky. Start drinking more acidic stuff like Lemonade and or Cranberry juice. If you regularly drink Lemonade, it will dissolve most stones.
Soft drinks and anything carbonated will create more stones.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

I personally had suffered from mental fogginess, weight gain for no reason, depression and inability to focus along with a slew of other annoying digestive disorders. After about 3 weeks following the suggestions on this site
( http://bit.ly/KidneyStoneRemedy )- my quality of life returned and every one of the symptoms have gone.
