My father is addicted to fentanyl. friday he was rushed to the emergency room for overdosing. Hes still in the hospital.. he was sick but was talking normal and acting like himself saturday and sunday...now since monday hes not himself...he barely talks..its like hes a toddler. he speaks slower, he repeats words like saying hi 4 times in a row..he doesnt even pay attention when we talk most the time. its like hes in another world. Ive tried talking to the doctors...they think hes normal because he can tell people what day it is and say his name...hes not normal....he doesnt talk like a 55 year old man like he used to..now its more like a 4 year old..its really scaring me..does anybody have a clue on what could be wrong?
Also ive been told they're giving him psychiatric drugs...could that be something thats making him act like this?

My drug of choice has been Avonex which is a Interferon, injected deep in the thigh muscle. The cost was $1,400 per month, so I stopped taking it, with no changes. I stopped taking this drug 22 months ago and have not noticed any change in my condition.

What drug are you taking and how much does it cost? Do you like it? What are the side affects?

I have had this lump for about 4 months now, it is on the left side of my back, between my lower rib and closer to my front side rather than the spine. No pain, is hard and fixed, went to my dr yesterday who said it is not a lipoma and is deeply embedded. Going to see a surgeon on the 21st of this month....what could be the cause??? My dr really could not tell me much of anything. Scared it is cancerous but cannot find on search engines for a mass like this. Anyone with medical knowledge or personal experience with something like this would be most appreciated.

March this year I had the stomach flu , since then my stomach hasnt been the same. I'm confirmed to NOT have the following :

Any thryoid problem (Hypo, Hyper, Hyperpara)
Pancreatitis (The head of my pancreas is large)
Gallstones
Cancer
Celiac Disease

I've had over 4 thyroid tests (bloodwork for levels 3 times) including scan and uptake, normal.
CT scan of pancreas along with testing of Lipase, normal.
Ultrasound of abdomen, only finding was a large pancreas, no gallstones.

I have absolutely NO idea whats wrong with me NONE at all and its so frustrating.
I refuse to believe its all in my head because it is not.
The day after I had the stomach flu (which was incredibly violent) my stomach ( in between and below breastbones ) felt so nauseous in such an odd way.
A month later I got acid reflux that hit me after drinking Gatorade and that started me on Protonix. Ive had a history of LPR but never literal reflux I could feel. I was COMPLETELY fine before I got that stomach flu.

Do the patient feel relief? Nausea? Nothing? Are there any delayed reactions? (Not talking about disease here.. just.. anything a person who receives blood might experience that the average person isn't aware of?). Do they feel stronger or lethargic? Is there any acclimation period when you take in a stranger's blood?

Someone in the Religion and Spirituality board mentioned their spouse was sick for over a week each time they took a blood transfusion. In your experience, is this statement an exaggeration about the effects of having a blood transfusion? Or could it be he was sick to begin with and recovering better than he would've without a transfusion?

I'm honestly curious. I've never had a blood transfusion and for most of my life having one was religiously taboo. Any information you have to share would be appreciated
